I do not desire another warden. Do not send one to me, Admiral. I have no need for such a keeper. I wash my hands of this business. [Said with a great deal of conviction, like it's really going to happen ( Read more... )

While you're perfectly entitled to ignore said warden should you be assigned, though this is not recommended, whether you're reassigned is not within your purview, nor anyone else's, barring the Admiral.

Why are you dropping the infirmary?

I have no need for a warden. Why send one to me? I have not killed. I have not maimed. I have not been sent to this "zero" that inmates speak of. I have done nothing wrong.

I have no wish to continue that work. [Pause.] It is not the way of the future.

And? You propose getting out of here on your own? A warden isn't a punishment, beyond being put here, of course, they are here to guide you.

How so?

My home is not so preferable to the barge. It may suit my needs, for this time.

Why do we waste time with the medicine of old? Why do we not simply create machines that can heal the whole of human flesh?

Such forcible demands from an inmate.

Do the wardens listen?

They surely will do so in my case. [...As in no, no, they don't.]

What makes you different from the rest of the inmates?

I have not the same violent nature.

What... are you looking to find out from them? [interest. it is here.]

I wish to discover how it is that they work. How this electricity was harnessed.

Oh, well, that's a decent enough quest.

I've got some things which I'd like to figure out how they work, actually. But... you can't have them, sorry, I... I worked hard collecting these.

[pause]

Why are you giving up on some Useful Work? Do they overwork you, or treat you badly?

My discoveries will also be useful. Merely in a way that is different to the work that I formerly did. Also, working in the infirmary was most pleasant. The staff who work their are kind, decent people.

I have a broken gramophone you are welcome to, though I cannot part with the one in working order unless I had something to replace it with. {He will die without his few wax classical 78s, you see.}

I would take the broken one, if you please. I would not deprive you of the working machine and the function it provides.

You are welcome to come by to collect it at your leisure, I am in room 5-19. If you have a small wood box or something similar, I do have the two pieces that broke from it. {The less said on how, the better. But on the plus side, great excuse to buy the new one-it can even play as slow as 60 rpm!} They are quite delicate, and I do not suggest putting them in a bag of cloth. Ah, and there is still acid in the battery case; I do suggest care when opening its compartment.

Assume Victor picking it up? c: failedcreator April 13 2011, 13:09:31 UTC
I will note all that you say. I am quite sure that this acid will not hurt as much as the impact of electricity upon the body, something that I have also experienced.

Can I ask why? I thought you liked working in the infirmary?

I do not think that I am fit company for others. I wish to be left with my work.

Victor, that's not true. I enjoy your company.

I enjoy your company also. But I have no desire to speak to many on board the barge. I have no desire to assist them with their ills. No longer.
