WOO today was sooo much better! Minus my stuffy/sometimes runny nose and really weird sounding voice...but my no-more-sore throat made up for that! I was too happy when I woke up and didn't feel that gross feeling in my throat. Umm ( Read more... )

oh man, after hearing that song continuously for 15 min. 4 years in a row, there needs to be a change. i haven't heard a good trumpet player play that solo since i was a freshman.

whoever ends up playing it....just belt it out there! make it sound beautiful, don't just play what's on the page, improv a little, run up to the notes instead of just going straight to it...do SOMETHING different! bring some life into that dull song with a good solo!!

I LOVE THE MORE I SEE YOU!! And I sooo played it your freshman year (cuz that was the year of my dominance--first chair what what), so you BETTER be talking about me because I love that solo and played it with all my heart and soul...I can't speak for the years following cuz I sucked once Papa Haynes changed my embochure and then left me HANGING with a crappy embochure :(

i was! it's been so long since i've heard that solo played beautifully......it's a good song if the soloist would just add some spice and life to it!

actually, i don't think anyone's playing it...it's only for seniors and there aren't any senior trumpets. But I think that'll change and ryan will end up playing it, because it'll sound retarded.

Actually, I've been playing that solo since my sophomore year--we kinda just let whoever played it well play it back then...I mean since you play it 1000 times, everyone who is good at it should get to play it...that whole senior thing probably came about as an excuse to allow all the crappy seniors to play it (I guess that includes myself my senior year cuz I sucked--BUT NOT AT THE MORE I SEE YOU cuz I loved it too much to suck at it...)
