[There's sharp intake of breath and Jessamine has to pause for a moment to catch her breath. She's only been scratched in training, something that she is positive Will did to her on purpose, so the pain isn't something she's used to. The sound of Desmond's scream though, his terror is what frightens her the most.]

...I would ask if you're alright, but I do believe the answer to that question wouldn't be very positive.

[Oh Jessamine, the sound of your voice and your face on his Dreamberry screen is nothing but comforting. Desmond runs a hand over his face and shakes his head: she's right, but it doesn't mean that he's not going to try and deny it.]

I'm fine, Jessamine. I'll survive.

[He then sees the terror in her own eyes and his shoulders slack in defeat. He never wanted to worry her too]

[She knows he'll survive, but she doubts that he's fine. Anyone having that sort of dream couldn't be classified as fine right off the bat. For the mean time, Jessamine lets it go.]

It's not so much the nightmares, Desmond. I've unfortunately faced things like that. [She hesitates.] It's more that I'm worried about you.

[Since the nightmares are becoming regular occurrences for Desmond, they are leaving him less and less shaken up as he wakes up. But sometimes, like tonight, they get a bit more under his skin than usually.]

You've had nightmares this intense? [That very knowledge produces a deep crease between his eyebrows. He can deal with this, but he really doesn't like the thought of someone as nice and innocent and as gentle as Jessamine having to live through this as well.]

I....I don't know what to say, Jessamine. This is not the first time I've had them...[Desmond knows she knows that all too well, sadly] And I don't think they'll ever go away. I just need to learn to live with them, I guess.

[He's voicing out thoughts he never shared with anyone before. Not even with Lucy. But by his tone of voice, the blond Shadowhunter should easily pick up that this is not something that makes him happy about.]

But the historian doesn't say anything and he closes his eyes before shifting his gaze somewhere else. Desmond has really no idea what to say here. He never really wanted for any of his team mates to see this.]

[He's not exactly surprised by the incredulous look on the other bartender's face. No one actually believed his bullshit, and that says alot about his ability to lie. Still, Desmond is grateful she's not pushing the matter. He gives her sheepish yet playful eyes as he tries to redirect the conversation to something else]
