[The video feed starts with the view of the inside of a hand, the whistling of the wind almost covering the sound of quick footsteps. The sound of feet against rooftop tiles changes to the creaking sound of wood as Desmond drops down from his path to the streets using crates by the building he's on top of. He lands into the dark alleyway with a

Oh my God. Desmond-
Where are you?

Izzy....I'm....in the residential district, near the Arena. [He closes his eyes and presses the back of his hand against his forehead. This is not the first dead person he's seen in his life, in fact he was the cause for many corpses in his world, but seeing someone he cares for lying in a pool of blood has a different feel than seeing an enemy in the same position. He rarely breaks, and probably won't, at least not here, but Isabelle is the only one that will see him crack, more or less. He sighs lightly]
I was on the roof a moment ago, I can't say exactly where I am, not from the streets anyway.

Sure. It's not like I have anywhere else to go anyway. [Because running can only make this look worse than it already is.
There's a long pause, during which Desmond seems to ponder something.]
When....when you died...did you remember your death?
[They never spoke of that time Isabelle got murdered. Guess now is the time for it to be brought out in the open. Because the novice still cultivates the hope that his friend is going to come back to this world in a week's time.]

[Rapunzel's seen blood like this twice now in Somarium, but it never stops being awful and she never stops wanting to help. and this is still worse than the two other times she's seen someone horribly injured. she's covering her mouth with her hands]
I-I might be able to do something, I-

[He gives the blond an unreadable gaze, as if he's fighting something within him, like the false hope that something can truly be done here. But then he looks away from the feed, obviously at Tifa and he swallows slowly before he shakes his head. There's too much blood on the ground and her abdomen looks like it's been ripped apart. He raises a hand to touch her cheek: she's barely warm, he's too late for sure]
....Unless you can bring back the dead, I don't think there's anything that can be done...

[now this she hasn't seen. there's a long, long pause, then she swallows and speaks quietly.]
.........She's dead?

Yes....I'm sorry, Rapunzel. [He wasn't even aware the two girls knew each other. Clearly, if given a second chance, he'll need to know his employee better.]

In his calmest, most firm tone, he speaks up.]
Hey, hey- Desmond? Calm down, buddy.
Where are you?

I'm calm! I'm in the residential district, near the Arena.
[He almost shrugs off the information because what the hell is Drake going to be able to do about this?]
Reply
[He ignores that dark glare, his tone unchanging. Drake wastes no time and is in his car and driving like a bat out of hell to the location Desmond specified.]

When Nate finds him, he's still by Tifa's body, back to the wall and arms resting against his knees. Nothing's been touched, he hasn't even look for clues. All he's done was to close the brunette's eyes, because he couldn't stand the desperate look on her face. At least now, she almost seems at peace.]

Is that Tifa!? Where the *&$# is that!? [so he can do...something. honestly he has no idea but he couldn't just let her lie there like that.]

You know Tifa?
[He looks old enough to be his father. Please don't let it be his father, he doesn't want to have to tell the man about his now dead daughter.]

[...This is why he'll never be a police officer]

[No. No no no no. This cannot be happening. Not to Tifa of all people! She'd just left the house a few hours ago...what in all the hells happened?
He needs to get over there. He needs to get to her even if it's probably way too late to help her.]
Where are you?

I'm in a back alley close to the Arena, I think.

Stay there, alright? Don't try to move 'em on your own. I'll be right over to...[To what? Pay his last respects? Bring her home? Gods, he doesn't know right now. But he's got to be sure. He's got to get there first.] I'll be right there.

[Despite not knowing if it'd be a good idea for the man to come here, to his friends butchered, Desmond still waits for him. Maybe with two heads, they can figure out what happened or just...what to do with the young woman's body.]
