I have a very tough time with this one. I'm not entirely comfortable making ANY judgments about people in cases like these, because it's obvious that I can't begin to relate to what they were or are going through. On the other hand, having closely experienced the suicide of a loved one, and seen and felt how others are affected, I can attest that strong feelings on the matter, though perhaps ignorant, are still valid.

Depending on your personal code of morality, you can look at a case like this as an issue of responsibility. The person who wants to kill himself has a family - not just parents, but a wife, presumably children...children who will now be left without a father. It is my, Sonia's, personal belief that when a man signs on to bring a child into the world, he is making a promise to be there. Emotionally, physically, energetically, any way available, the point and purpose of being a father is to be there for your child. By taking your life, you are also robbing your children of their father forever, irreversibly taking away ( ... )

While my response will not be quite as long, I do believe suicide is possibly the most selfish thing a person with a family can do ( ... )

No. I don't. Unless he didn't try to make the pain go away, and all attempts failed, I seriously don't believe in torture. People always shoot their dogs if they get run over by a truck and the dogs are still alive. Its funny how people are quick to pull the gun out then for the dog because they don't want their dog to feel the pain, but the poor human to which they love(hopefully as much) has to live through it? Fuck that shit, the family is selfish ( ... )
