I did not mean to offend. Any soul thus treated can only be considered forsaken by fate and luck as well as humanity, that they would receive such cruelty.

Being stuck in a book where you could at least talk to other people and they'll listen? I don't really think that's cruelty. [Not to her anyway.]

There is no kindness in tearing the mind and the heart from someone's body, and draining the essence of their souls for twisted needs.

Oh I didn't mean that there's kindness in it, it's just preferable to other fates I know of.

Anyway, that's not what's going on with these books. That's just technology at work.
