Well, Michael and I had our first Murder Mystery Dinner party on Saturday. The occasion? To celebrate
jamesracheld's 1/2 birthday. (To explain, a 1/2 birthday is the day 6 months before your actual birthday, get it?)
Anyway, what was it all about? I'll tell you. Here's the summary of the game...
The Chicago Caper Ironically enough, all of the guests in attendence are LJ users too! Who played who? Glad you asked.
MOLLY M. AWBSTERR was played by the 1/2 birthday girl,
jamesracheldERNIE ("BET A MILLION") G. AMBLER was played by my husband,
michaelulrich"SILKY" M. ADAM was played by none other than myself,
fairegirl69EDDIE ("SOCKS") R. GYLE was played by
m_david_snyderMALISSA F. ORRTHOT ("SCOOP") was played by
erinmevansS. TREIGHTON HARROW was played by
broodmanANNA MARIA CARLOTTA SASSINE ("TORCHY") was played by
peachysakura24BILLY ("THE KID") THROWER was played by
ragnarok5 Also in attendence and in costume too (I love you, Alice!! You Rock!) was
camberne who was up visiting in the area on vacation with her hubs, Phil, and her son, Geoffrey. Sorry for boring you guys to death though...I really wish we could've incorporated you folks into the game more, but I had no idea how it was going to work out. It was nice having you all over for dinner nonetheless.
Anyway, it was a great time!! Everyone participated and followed the COME IN COSTUME rule!! With the exception of poor sick Ariel who kept waking up crying from about 10pm until midnight, the game went off without a hitch. Next time I do this though, I think we'll just eat dinner first and then play the game non-stop afterwards. Ooh, yes, I did say NEXT TIME...hee hee...we'll have another Murder Mystery Dinner party in the Summer sometime.
The murderer? Oh - it was "Silky" - ME!! None of us guessed it. But there were prizes awarded anyway...Best Dressed was Rachel who donned a mighty fine Flapper ensemble that would make Roxi of Chicago jealous even. Most Creative was Tim who, given his interpretation of a baseball uniform, came up with the best accessory for his character - "baseball cards" (he took a picture of himself and superimposed it on a baseball diamond and it was just awesome!)- which he handed out to us and autographed as well!! He's just too much. Great job, Tim!
Ok - I know you want to see 'em...Make with the clicky!
THE PICS I didn't take that many as I was waaaaay too busy with the dinner stuff and whatnot. Oh well, it was my first time at doing this. Next time we'll have to take individual character shots and group shots BEFORE we play the game!!! That way it won't be so late in the evening.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO MADE MY FIRST TIME AT DOING THIS SORT OF THING A SUCCESS!! YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!!!
