Ooh! If you like the Dresden Files, you'll probably also enjoy Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London series. In the US, the first book is called Midnight Riot, book 2 is Moon Over Soho and book 3 is Whispers Under Ground. It's about a young mixed-race police officer who is a wizard-in-training for the London Metropolitan Police.
The series reminded me of a crossover between Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. Definitely worth reading.
Ahhh, I must read Barry Lyga. He has successfully creeped me out at two readings in a row, plus he seems to be the nicest dude. ::makes grabbyhands at his books::
Do! I enjoyed this book, but I'd point you at Boy Toy first. It's both intriguing and uncomfortable to read -- it made me feel like a sexual predator by proxy, which was a very strange experience (and impressive!). Let me know what you think, if you pick it up. I have a copy somewhere, but I doubt I'll get to see you in person to hand it off. :P
