Well, there I was, deciding to try out the Ginger Cake mix I got from AP as the Chocolate Fudge Cake had turned out pretty well. Same package style, same company, same time and gas mark right?

Mixed the ingredients with water and shoved in the 9" cake tin with the removable bottom and lined with greased greaseproof paper. 1h20m later I prodded it ( Read more... )

Oh dear. Reminds me of the time when, as a youngster of about ten, I tried to cook a shortbread. Once it was in the oven, I forgot about it. It came out like reinforced concrete.

We kept three geese at the time, and they took a couple of weeks (with the help of the rain) to chisel it to bits and polish it off.
