Inebriated networking!

I went out last night in order to hang out with someone I met at the class class. She bartends at a local bar, which according to some, is the new lesbian "hot-spot". [I say that somewhat ironically, as I tend to think of hot-spots as expensive and exclusionary and said bar is more working class.] There were a bunch of cool female-type people there ( Read more... )

Curse my curious nature and the nature of cats Who are curious and much like me and i think i have begun to ramble. BAH ABH HAB! and how ever else the letters of bah can be arranged! but i whence looking at this post noted the * and being the curious sort had to go down and look up the * and it's secret meaning of life and hence got stuck into reading ** and *** as well. for i am nothing if not distractable! And lo! there is this mini rant on people having the same first initial. and it gave me pause. for surely this is a problem. it is why i think everyone should have a personal symbol! AHA see i think! sorta. But anyway one will run into the very problem a lot due to only having 26 letters to choose from in that first initial thing there ( ... )

Mostly kidding about the same initial thing. With only 26 letters, I can't have too much faith in there not being overlap.

While bitchiness can be a problem, I think the self-importance can be way more off-putting and divisive. Not to be stereotypical or anything. On a related note, I wish they hadn't fucking moved Pride into the damn downtown area. It was much nicer when it was on the North Shore where there was grass and openness and such. Fucking corporate bullshit. Anyway...

As for studying in a bar, I don't know how people can do that. Too much noise and distraction, not to mention that for me, alcohol is not conducive to concentration. Drawing though might be different than studying, what with all the happenings in a bar, might give one some inspiration?

i have never drawn inspiration from a bar. usually i wanna hit people cause they want me to draw up tattoos for them for free while hanging on me drunkenly. and yeah kinda ironic that drunken people piss me off yet i keep ending up in bars Especially since i am allergic to alcohol very badly.

but during the gigs i would just find a mostly quiet (as in no drunken assholes on me) and would read and draw. study up on things like Ikebana and herbalism and other such things that appeal to me.

Well, remembering the drawings I made when I was younger, when my mom wanted me to draw to get out the feelings I had toward the doctors who fucked up and were responsible for the death of my younger brother...yeah, I drawed them dying or being tortured in all sorts of horrifying ways. [Horrifying, at least, to me as a small child. I think it mostly involved spikes or knives or fire. Nothing compared to the "horror" (gore and guts) movies of today.] My guess is that you could do the same for the drunken hangers-on. For better effect, start drawing it when they are still standing there. Hee hee. I'm know you're good enough to sketch something up pretty quickly. And twisted enough to come up with some pretty interesting means of torture.

I mean that last comment as a sincere complement.

But good on you for being able to concentrate!

I'm super excited. :-)

Also--there have been days at work where there have been SO MANY CROWS flying around behind the plaza. Mostly, they like to hang out at the food dumpsters on either end. But sometimes they fly by really close or I can drive/walk by some that are perched. So gorgeous. Crow crow.
