Well that blows, eh?
Wife had it happen to her a year or so back and convinced Yahoo to return the account to her with a reset password. She called their tech admin (As listed in a whois) and was persistant. Took about a day or so, but they gave it back.
I did get a couple messages from your G' account that were obviously fake. Good luck with it if you call yahoo. If not, I'll see you on your new name.
