Oh god I love HSAUs when people actually write the characters as teenagers, with that fragile-but-full-of-frantic-energy awkwardness? And you really captured that here, the tense wire that Chekov is walking, those rules he has about texting Sulu, and in a way that made Pavel wonder if high school was hard for Hikaru, too yes, such an authentically teenager thought, the epiphany that other people are awkward too! This is such epic build up, you hooked me in like, what? 600 words? It was really jarring to get to the end. And I'm pretty miserable that this isn't finished, you cock tease. lol I had a dream last night that I checked my flist and you posted the end. but it was only a dream :(
