As of today I have completed 1/2 of my house projects.  The house is starting to look like a home.  It has been about 6 years of going through and getting rid of stuff, to get to this point.  Both Cord and I have mom's that are pack rats and love giving us stuff.  So now we are down to just the garage needing a

Sounds like life is going well! I'm glad that you are happy. And I totally understand about the WASL. School districts are now so focused on their students passing the WASL that other things that need to be taught (like art, music, reading, learning literature) are placed on a backburner. This is a growing travesty, because it means that our kids won't be a well-rounded education necessary for college, and for real-life too. (Can you tell I have an opinion? LOL) As someone going into the teaching field, I am nervous about how the WASL will affect my own career. Since I'll end up being an English teacher, the pressure will be on to teach basics, and not teach literature as much. This saddens me. Anyway, I've sat on my soapbox long enough. Thank you my dear. I have always said "You just have to make the most of life". Sure it throws a few punches, but at least you grow from it. I just can't believe I have an almost teenager.

As for the WASL I totally agree with you. At least I am smart enough to teach Christian the other stuff. Also I feel sports, hobbies, and music are just as important as the other stuff. So he should be pretty well rounded.
