I bought my wedding dress yesterday! I'm really excited about it and I think it suites me really well. It's this one:

I'm hoping my sister won' t be too upset with me because she wanted to come out and help me pick out a dress but she can't come out here until April or so. But I had to order it now because to get the accent color and I'm getting it without the train is going to take 3 months and then I will need to get alterations done on it. She was thinking I would have 3 to choose from in April and she could come out and help me decide then but that's just not going to work. Best of all, this week they were having a sale so it was $100 cheaper and ended up being $299. Now that still may seem like a lot of money but for a dress, any dress with that much fabric, it would be at least that much. I checked out Macy's, Saks and Nordstrom to see if I could find a dress that wasn't classified as a "wedding dress" that I liked that was cheaper and actually at some of the places the formal dresses were $600 and up. So I feel like I'm doing pretty well so far trying to do this wedding on a budget. I also feel like I'm doing pretty well on getting everything done in a timely fashion so that none of it is too stressful or daunting.
Today we are going to James' house to watch the Superbowl. He installed a "theater" in his gigantic house so we will be watching it in comfort. He installed stadium seating and the room has a gigantic tv and then two smaller tvs on the side so during football season he can watch multiple games at the same time. I'm making an olive tapenade to take over with me and the recipe calls for cognac. I don't have any cognac in the house so I figured I would go to the liquor store and the one I usually go to they are really helpful and friendly so since I had never bought cognac before I thought I would just ask them if I had any questions. Well when I got there the only cognac I could find was Contraeu or other cognac and orange varieties. So I asked what may have seemed like a stupid question but I wasn't sure if you could only get cognac with orange- like that's just the way it comes. But the clerk informed me in a very condescending manner that cognac and brandy are the same thing and then told me that if I'm going to be making something I should really understand the recipe before I start. It was so odd that he was so condescending about the whole thing.
Made an appointment to see the dentist on Monday. EARLY too- the appointment they had open was at 8am and since I'm a new patient I need to get there at 7:45 to fill out paperwork. Anyway I haven't been to a dentist since I lived in San Diego so 6 years ago. Sigh. Hopefully they don't have anything super upsetting to tell me about. Also, hopefully I don't need _any_ work done because I really only have enough money for the cleaning and exam since I don't have insurance.
