Danielle Fagan will actually clean up her act, relatively speaking. She and Rachel will probably wind up staying 'temporarily' in a swanky penthouse for another year before eventually moving out. They'll stay in New York until they need to leave for legal reasons, and then it will be back to business as usual. A few years down the line, Danielle and Rachel will return to the Atheneum for a longer period of time - well, Danielle will. When she and Anser reconcile, she will actually give up conning for good, thus leaving Rachel to be a conwoman all on her own - well, all on her own with The Littlest Fagan. Danielle is just about the proudest grandmother that has ever existed, and you better believe she spoils that kid rotten every chance she gets. Still, she will be 'retiring' from the life of conning, mostly to please Anser but also because she wants to have a break from it. She'll still offer advice and support, of course, but for the most part she will be a reformed woman and good girlfriend. There may even be rumblings of an Anser-Fagen marriage, but that's destined to not work out: Danielle skips town before any concrete plans are made, Danielle took off - this time without any Atheneum property. She'd be back, of course, and would probably one day settle down with an apartment in the Pentamerone so that she could bother Anser on a more regular basis and the two could grow old and bitter(er) together. Well, if not together, then at least in the same place. Woe to any and all whippersnappers.
Georgina "George" Woodruff is going to continue to work at the Pentamerone for several more years. She won't return to the world of teaching but will eventually put her degree to work in other ways: namely, she will open a gardening shop out in the 'burbs, thus leaving John with gardening detail. Meanwhile, George went on to have a nice little shop where she could work with plants and take people's money without too much prolonged contact with them. On a more personal level, George will continue to be good friends with the Aesopean boys, but one day she's going to realize that she likes girls. This will probably be more of a surprise to her than to any of her friends. George will never be particularly active in the gay scene, but she'll date now and then. It's unlikely that she'll get a serious girlfriend, unless there happens to be a gay Aesopean chick - other Tale groups are too young to understand her and non-Tales wouldn't appreciate her Crazy. She won't ever actually tell her family that she's a lesbian, but eventually after years and years of George never bringing a boy home for Christmas dinner, they'll quietly stop asking her when she's going to settle down. She will take John's death particularly hard, especially since he will die tending the grounds at the Pentamerone. Out of a combination of guilt and sentimentality, she will return to the Pentamerone to work in the gardens until arthritis forces her to retire from that as well. She will remain snarky to the very last.
Regina Brennan is going to be a party girl looooong after she should stop. After graduating (eventually) from school, she will find work as a fashion designer of no small renown: her ability to make people look beautiful will come to the fore and she will find herself a very desired name. Unfortunately, her complete lack of common sense will mean that a combination of bad business decisions and being taken advantage of by her agents leaves her with little actual money. She will wind up turning to her brother for financial help and he will give it because that's what he is there for. Regina eventually finds her prince - well, a prince - and the two marry. And divorce. And then she finds another prince. And the process repeats. It's not quite the same as the story: she meets a man and he gives her intelligence. Instead, all the experience she gets form her failed marriages will eventually make her smart enough about the way the world works that she isn't taken advantage of. She launches a flashy line and opens a design studio in Las Vegas. Eventually, she proves herself enough that Miles gives her the money to open a boutique in New York City, where she meets a brilliant (but somewhat less-than-GQ-worthy) software engineer. Think Beauty and the Geek: the two hit it off far FAR better than anyone expects, and they get married. This one lasts, and produces beautiful (if somewhat distracted) babies.
I ♥ you guys and wanted to say how fun it was to meet those of you who I hadn't previously met, and to chat and plot with all of you guys. A big shout out (yeah, I said 'shout out') to the Aesopean boys and a thanks for all the fun. I'm around at lyssachars at IJ and I'm modding and playing over at
TMI and playing at
MT for anyone who's in the market for a Marvel or DC game (respectively). Also, I can be found on aim at LyssaChan.
