And I respect your opinion, but I don't agree at all with that you should be edge and not show it. I wear an x-swatch. I wear band shirts with "straight edge" on them. I say be proud of yourself and your beliefs. To me, you're not showing off that you're edge by X'ing your fists or wearing edge gear. You're putting out a message. People ask what it means, and you educate them. You're putting out ideas of this lifestyle. If it's not an urgent and vital movement, if you say no to drugs but leave the X's in the backseat, then it's going to become a title and a trend. Being edge doesn't just mean no drugs, no alcohol, no premiscuous fucking. You're also sending out a positive presence to the world, you're saying you're trying your best. I can't say how excited I get to see older people X'ing up at shows, because it's a sign of hope to me. It reminds me that there's still other people that believe what I believe, that not everyone gives up after being 21, and it also gives me a sense of unity.
