sigh
It's hot...I do not do well with temps over 23 degrees as it is but 29, 30, and more...no way. Luckily, in general, our current apartment is cool enough and we keep the shutters partially closed during the day to keep it that way but I have fans going in the rooms I am in, anyway. I really still miss A/C...
The apartment search is really bad...at the moment, and we don't really know why, the list of offers are really scant - meaning 4 listings instead of 20 or so. We have a bid on one that is a bit...bizarre. First, the problem with it is the transportation...it would take several trains to get to Paris and while the time to there is not the worst (maybe an hour and a half in one direction), the timings OF the trains are not great...but the bizarre thing is that in the description, they mention "un cabinet infirmier et une salle commun" which are a medical office and a community room...what does this sound like to you? Yep, we looked up the address on Google and it is housing for seniors! However it says nothing like that on the Action Logement site and you know, we thought maybe they don't want the residence to be strictly seniors OR they made a mistake. In my opinion, I am completely OK living in a place with seniors! I grew up surrounded by old people, even taking care of many and I have patience for most of them so I have no problem with that...plus there would be no screaming kids nor loud parties. Works for me! Anyway, there are only 6 candidates (what a shock) bidding on this. But...
We've been watching the Summer Olympics - Gilles more than me because he's a sports guy but I did get to see some of the horse events, some of the gymnastics and Gilles is recording the diving for me. I like that because it's like dancing to me. Very artistic and graceful. I can't wait, though, for it to be over.
I bought a couple of train tickets to go do a shoot on Wednesday. I really want to do this last shoot before the summer ends. Then, I will have one on our vacation and that will conclude the chateaux series I have been working on since 2015. At least for the most part. Who knows? Maybe I will see some completely amazing place that I must do a shoot at in the future but I think I said all I could for now. Mont St. Michel would have been a great backdrop but it's too expensive to take the transportation for just that and even if I am far enough away from it to only keep in the background, there will still be too many people. I think. Would be awesome, though...and with the herds of sheep I always see in photos. ;)
I need money this month somehow. With not working again until the earliest, October, I am doing what I can in the jewelry promoting realm (but, really, August? Not the time for people to spend money) and trying to come up with other ideas....but I am also tired. With me not working, though, I am using my overdraft protection to pay for groceries and my bills and then at some point, Gilles can try to give me money back into my account to put me back in the black but it's really a stupid game that we have to play at the moment. Fingers crossed that there are some money miracles this month.
