In the past week or so I've been doing a lot of reflecting in my life. Assessing what and who is important to me, how they are important and in what way. And then I hung out with one of my best friends yesterday and a conversation we had got me thinking some more. And then last night on AIM a comment got me thinking even more than before. I think the DARE program had many flaws. My mother was against it because the policeman told us that if someone asked us to smoke we should lie and say we couldn't because we had health problems. She didn't think it was worth the lying. I don't approve of it because usually the people teaching it don't follow it, so what is the point of teaching it then?

But its not inevitable. It's rare when I do drink and even more rare when I get drunk, and I've never done any drugs. Plus alcholism and abuse are prolems in my family, but I choose to follow my own path. It certainly wasn't DARE that stopped me, it was just me.
