Gavin and John said they wanted to strip everything back to what they wanted the show to be about all along - making people's dreams come true and that aspect worked wonderfully. It came across as a very slick, professional, glossy show. It was really enjoyable to watch.
Depends on whether I get tickets to the other tapings! They haven't given them all out yet and its by random draw I think - sadly the pre link on the JB site hasn't actually helped much from what I can see. Yes they said that the BBC wanted the workplace wonders type stuff in but this series they stripped it back to the core of the show which is the wish fulfillment angle.
Thanks so much for this lovely detailed summary. It's sounds wonderful. Wish I lived in the UK. Maybe someday they'll put the shows on DVD (sure they will). Or maybe some wonderful person will upload the shows for everyone. Either way, thanks.
You're very welcome. Its not the sort of show they tend to release on dvd unfortunately but I'm sure someone will up it for people to download after it airs in the UK (I'm not technologically minded so don't have the slightest clue how to do that!) - some kind soul always does.
Crosses fingers for you! They're always fun to see live. Its a much more focussed (and therefore shorter) recording than in London with minimal larking around in between but always fantastic to see him sing live.
