Drawing Tablets

Sep 20, 2006 17:13

Awhile back I mentioned that I wanted a drawing tablet. Today, I thought it again and went and did some research online. From what I read, Wacom seems to be the best brand.

I know some of you out there on my flist have tablets. Tell me what you know about them and suggest which you think is good?

I have a Wacom as well, the first Graphire one, I think. I've had it for YEARS and I've never had a problem with it :D People think it's small, but it's perfect for me. I can't really see myself using a huge one. It looks like more effort.. lol.

I've got a Wacom Graphire 3 6'x8' and it is love.
When I was getting one, some friends recommended that I go for the 4'x5' because it's for people who draw from the wrist (which is what most people do), while the 6'x8' is for those who draw from the shoulder/elbow...(i don't remember which), which is the "proper" way to draw. I was also told that the 6'x8' would be cumbersome and so on, but I went for it anyway because I didn't think I'd be able to use the 4'x5' properly.

Oh, and I remember reading through this site when I was trying to decide:

I think your best bet is to see if you can test a friend's (or one in-store if they allow you to) and see what feels right to you. Everyone is different.

hope that helps =D
