Hyde loved the snow.
Oh, it had its many faults, making his slight frame shiver in the biting cold being only one in a long list of such faults, but moments like this far outweighed the cons.
He shifted on his feet, working to insure the blood was still flowing and watched his family play. Megumi’s cheeks were pink as she laughed, ‘running away’ from the overly bundled little boy stumbling in the snow after her. Akio bent his short little legs and scooped up an armful of snow, shuffling another couple of feet and heaving it toward her as best he could… missing her by a good foot.
Hyde grinned and shook his head as “Ungle Gaccky” swooped up from behind and caught the little deviant in his arms, spinning in fast circles before stopping to throw him up into the air. Hyde’s son giving a delighted squeal as he came back down before wrapping tiny arms around Gackt’s neck and burying his flushed face against it.
Megumi grinned and moved up, taking her son from Gackt and kissing his cheek before moving toward the house, stopping to press a kiss to Hyde’s as well, “don’t stay out too long,” she said with a teasing grin before taking a squirming Akio inside to warm him up.
Hyde turned his head to watch them go and smiled to himself. Turning his back on Gackt turned out to be a bad idea as he suddenly had a handful of snow shoved down his coat and undershirts - and it was cold! He released an undignified squeak before he picked up a handful of snow and took off after his laughing lover, balling it up and pelting it at the back of his head before releasing another squeal as Gackt rounded on him and tackled him to the frozen ground.
He laughed despite being drenched and shivering, looking up at Gackt with a fond grin and responding warmly when his lover dipped his head to offer a kiss. “I love the snow…” Gackt murmured against his lips and Hyde smiled, answering with a small sound of agreement before kissing him again.
They moved up eventually and Hyde grinned, smoothing down his hair and shivering lightly as he watched Gackt shake snow from his clothes. He waited a moment before he smirked at Gackt, picking up snow and shoving it down his jacket in delayed retaliation and taking off with a laugh, his lover sputtering before following quickly while his wife and son watched them play from the window with matching grins.
Yea… life was good with snow.
