My contract got extended for another 3 months! Am so chuffed about this, it's a huge relief, although it does mean postponing my Vancouvy visit for ... well... 3 months. Everyone, you can now uncross your fingers :o)

And welcome to the world Erin Louisa Bratt!! My friends Sheelagh and Colin had a baby girl tonight and they're all doing well.

Yey, so glad about the contract renewal. Won't hear about mine for ages yet. It's until March 08.

Our friends just had a baby girl they sent us some lovely photos.

So out of the lj loop managed to get back on the internet and lj to find everyone is having babies. Congratulations to you for contract and to the new parents. Also big hello to tailsen and emmaco we miss them.

Congrats on getting your contract extended, mate :) Another quick question - what job agencies are your particular favourites when searching for work in the UK? I'm at that extremely fun stage at the moment ;)

Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet sometime soon!

Agency-wise, get your CV on the CV library website if you haven't already done so. To be honest, most of the agencies are similarly bad, it's just your luck I'm afraid. I'm with Pathway so check out www.pathwayresourcing.com. They're pretty good, if there's something suitable tell them I recommended you!! My agent is Chris Parker. They send you muffins and stuff :)

I'd *love* to come up to Scotland, and I'm certain that Emma would too. Just got to figure out when we can - it's a pity that all of the bank holidays are now behind us!

Thanks very much for your recommendations :) Got the CV on CV-library, which is proving promising. I'll have a look at Pathway as well - is it difficult to contract work in the UK? (laws, etc), and how much is your standard income tax over here (I think in Aus it's about 30% or so)?.

Can't argue with the persuasive power of a good muffin!
