Two Year Anniversary Post

Tomorrow marks the second year since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.  I'm posting my entry tonight because I don't know if I'll have time after school tomorrow.  Honestly?  This year, I didn't try as hard.  The first part is from my journal that I wrote while on vacation.

The simplest answer to your dilemna: NOLA is your Home. and yes, home with a capital H. There's nothing quite like that pull. I know it, I feel it. Being a New Orleanean is something that is ingrained in all of us here-we practically bleed snowball juice and crab boil. It's not something you can get out. I was talking with Andrew one day about the state of the city, and while he said he could consider the possibility of moving away when he got older (like almost grandpa older), I couldn't even at that distant age. And I got really REALLY freaked out. And frustrated. And I couldn't really express why. Because it's NOT something you can explain, it's something you can hardly put into words-that feeling that anywhere else would be suffocating and just not the same ( ... )
