I don't understand how this would outlaw birthcontrol (the egg has NOT been fertilized yet, so... How is NOT fertilizing it a crime?)

Also, how can it possible criminalize miscarriages? Does that all mean a someone who has a heart attach is a criminal? Generally, miscarriages are an unfortunate, but NATURAL occurrance, aren't they? (Admittedly, I have no medically training and could be wrong, but I was pretty sure that a miscarriage was the body's way of ending a pregnancy that was medically not-viable.)

Some birth control works by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting, and there are ways to encourage a miscarriage to occur. Also, I can see people saying, "Well, she SAYS she had a miscarriage, but how do we know she didn't kill her baby ON PURPOSE?"

Good points. Hadn't realized.

Although - if anyone looks at a woman who had a miscarriage and accuses her of wrong doing, they deserve to be bitch-slapped. That's one of the hardest things for a woman to go through, and to minimize her pain by accusing her of causing it??? Ugh. People suck.

Good luck to the sane Mississippians.

The people who would look at a woman who has had a miscarriage and accuse her of wrong doing are the same people who place the rights of a small bunch of cells that may be a person one day above the rights of a person who has already been born.

Words cannot express how incredibly stupid and disgusting I find this amendment and the people behind it. This will me an unmitigated disaster for the people of Mississippi if this passes.
