Some advice from a seamstress who deals with wedding gowns all the time...

Sooner you order it, the better and I suggest 6 months before the wedding since a lot of dresses are imported. They'll probably order it for you if it's from Davids, and they'll order it for your biggest measurement so you may need to get it altered. For example, if your hips are the biggest measurement (that's the most common), then don't panic if it's too big in the waits and bust. I can be 99% certain your dress will need hemmed. VERY few fit perfect when they come in. As soon as you get it, take it to get altered. Bring the bra and shoes you'll be wearing so the seamstress can get the best possible fit :-)

Just wanted to give you a bit of advice to make the dress aspect easy :-)

LOL NP... as a seamstress it's frustrating when I have to tell them I can't do the dress properly unless they have the shoes and bra at the fitting. They get so mad, but we have to tell them we just want their dress to be perfect.

Also... if you're wearing a crinoline under your dress... bring that, too. Any undergarments that will affect the shape need to be worn at the fitting.

Any questions please ask, even though I won't be the one altering it I can still help :-)

CRINOLINE BAD... thank you for the Help I wish you were the one doing the Altering, it might bring something to the dress. but I have a woman who has done our altering for the last 10 years so I kindof should go to her.. I will wright down all the helpful hints so I remember. thanks again...
