Between vacations

So last week jalen_mara came to visit me and it was fabulous. On Thursday we met emmaorgana at Cedar Point and between the weather, the fast passes we sprang for, and most of all the company, it really could not have been a better experience. We went to see Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters on Friday night and it wasn't horrible! And Jalen very graciously indulged my new ( Read more... )

Things on my *very* tentative schedule that we have in common ( ... )

I'm at the stage where I put everything I'm interested in at all on my schedule.

That's what I did yesterday too, and I was surprised at how few conflicts there ended up being (even with the parade as a lock). I only ended up having to make two or three really tough choices. It does help that they usually offer more than one choice of the really high-profile celeb panels (like my BSG and DS9 ones).

I am marching with the Once Upon a Time group. I'm going to go out on a limb and presume you're marching with the Defiance crowd? :-)

Are you using the iPad/iPod app? I haven't tried setting up any friends with it yet.

EDIT: Also, if you go to the Werewolf/Vampire debate, do you have a preferred side? I have no strong loyalties either way, but I've heard that the debate is a highly entertaining wit-fest and is becoming one of YA Lit's best annual traditions, which is why I really want to go this year. :-)

Oh, you must be much more discriminating than I. I have conflicts all over the place. There's, like, six or seven things all going on at once in many time slots. But like I said, that's the very first pass. A few times slots only have one or two things, and the very rare (like my first panel - Defiance Friday at ten) has no conflicts ( ... )

The panel moderator responded that they had mostly everything filled but that I could read Greedo if I wanted, so of course I said yes!

Another sentence to add to your "About the Author" blurbs. :)

I've not even begun to look at the con schedule, but can I just say this one sounds like a must see:
--Why Actors Choose the Roles they Choose (for the Writer's track and featuring Ioan Gruffudd)

And I love your Greedo "costume" idea. ;)

Oooh! I hope to see you there! The one autograph I'm set on getting this year is having Ioan Gruffudd sign my copy of Amazing Grace and gushing like a fangirl in general about the whoel business. :-)

I'd been planning a photo op with him, but hadn't considered what I might get signed. I seldom think about bringing DVD covers - that's a good option. It's been a while since I've seen that one - wonder if I could squeeze in a re-watch before heading out of town next week.

Amazing Grace is my favorite movie. It gets better every time I watch it.

I toyed with the idea of trying to get a rewatch of Hornblower squeezed in, or at least some of it. I only ever watched the first four episodes, and only once apiece, a loooooooong time ago. But at this point I know I don't have time and I'm not even sure I could track down copies. Maybe the library downtown...

Still. Not gonna stress about it. :-)

(The real question is: why, of all years, is Jamie Bamber not at Con!?) LOL
