When I was a kid, it didn't seem like we did a lot of things in school like arts and crafts, but I remember enjoying craft time in VBS.

Oh man - a LOT of these ideas are straight out of my kindergarten classes and/or stuff I do with my son to this day. Tons of fun and it amazes me how much learning you can do around one simple theme.

I think learning can be creative and fun. I was so bored with school as a kid, but if school had been fun for me then that probably would have made it all the more difficult for me to deal with the boredom of having to go to work as an adult. On the other hand, if learning is boring, then that could make learning more difficult for a child.
