Out of tha comfort zone

Here are my responses to the little meme doohickey I posted earlier. I am getting real close to crashing, so this post may not be as long or thought provoking as it should / could have been. But eh, at least it's something, right? Some of the questions I may not be able to answer && I apologize for that. Bear with me on those. T_T

Huh. Interesting. I'm religious (in a way~) and I wasn't offended xD but then, I asked it, so..
I think it's 2012 because that's when the ancient Mayans thought the world was going to end or something? xD

Personally I think if you use religion to make the world a better place it's useful, but I hate it when people get stuck in the details, like "O NOES THE BIBLE SAYS THIS OR THIS". It's like, you're missing the point bb~ But just my $0.02 :]

Well, that's good. As long as you weren't offended.
Yeah, I heard them talking about it on TV the other day. It was so dumb.

I think there are more useful ways to make the world a better place than to use religion. Ever since there has been God, people have killed each other. WUT?

I think people have just killed each other in general for a while.. xD But yeah, religion definitely caused some big wars and stuff~ :/

Yes, I agree. But religion definitely has played a crucial in the wars that have been fought. Even our current one. -_-

Ahhh... religion is such full of controvercy. When you think about it, it is religion that has caused many leaps of hope... and many wars. :/ I really don't know what to say about that topic - I want to believe in God, but there are some things I disagree with in the Bible.

I basically disagree with the Bible in it's entirety. I mean, just the first six pages are a crack up. NONE of it makes sense. Why didn't the Bible say shit about the dinosaurs, HUH?

I don't really like talking about because I seriously get carried away with it. I don't know when to stop!

It was the Mayans who predicted the end of the world on 12 December 2012. Their calendar ends the day before- so it's not anything in any modern monotheistic religion, certainly not Christianity. Also (but don't quote me on this), Nostradamus, who predicted the end of the world at the end of the year 1999, was born a Jew and a sworn atheist.

The following is taken from Why the Jews by Dennis Prager, so probably doesn't apply to most Christians, but the Old Testament or Jewish Bible was the one of the first texts ever printed that offered protection and sanctity for women. You must remember that this book came out of a time where women were property of their husbands, and even the fertility cults saw them only as baby-spawning machines- it was in its way a product of its time, as you can't convert two million people to your word if its completely different than their previous way of life. I have a feeling that God would be unhappy if we never reconsidered His words and how they apply to our society ( ... )

Well, I knew about the Mayans && Nostradamus but it was the fact that they have been proven wrong time and time again, but people still put their beliefs in it. I guess I'm just a cunt. -_-

I realize that it came from a different time period, but religion wasn't the only thing shackling women. It was just the world, period. We we're only good for cookin', fuckin' && breedin'. That was it. Same goes for the Christians. According to God, we are actually just tools. TOOLS?! Joy. That's what I want to believe in! Someone who thinks of me as nothing more than a tool to create more spawn. Yippe!

I hate it when Christians always feel the need to attack us non Christians. As if we are hurting anyone by not believing who someone who hasn't even proven them self to exist in the fuckin' FIRST place.

They are always saying dumb shit to me like, "So....you wanna burn in hell then?" WTF? That isn't even proper etiquette. Sorry... kinda went off thar.

I'm Christian/Presbyterian. :) And I question the Bible a lot of the time myself-- but only so I can get a better understanding of what I'm reading. (It still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me; but maybe my faith is too strong, because I'm never turning away. Hehe ( ... )

My faith faltered when I was like... 12 years old. The people at my church we're so ignorant, always preaching about stuff that just... really, still to this day, makes no sense.

Christianity, in my opinion, is the most evil && the bloodiest of most religions I've ever seen. How you gonna kill people for working to feed the mouths of their family? Well, they did. PUH. Humans, in general are disease ridden and gross. Not just gay people. That's ridiculous. Most animals are cleaner than us. For serious.

I know that it's really only one church: The Westboro Baptist Church; who picket the gay funerals, but they seriously picket everything. They ever say "God Hates America" when they fuckin' LIVE IN AMERICA. WHAT THE EFF?

I personally don't think Jesus is coming back, but that's just me. I just think we're gonna kill ourselves. Or a giant meteor. Either or.

Maybe it's because I don't go to church that I haven't been wavered~ x) BAH. I'm such a bad Christian--

The history of Christianity is evil and bloody --I've started reading it from the beginning (only gotten up to the part about David and Saul and Goliath) and, yeah... wow-- but it's mainly to do with the time period they were living in, the devil's influence, and the people's free will. And there are plenty of other rules (an entire book of them! orz) around that time to keep the people from other diseases, not just the kinds that homosexual sex open the way for. Also, God's tight rule of the people was most likely just to keep them in line-- while when Jesus was born and died, that was relaxed a lot.

Urrk, The Westboro Baptist Church. They picketed Heath Ledger's funeral, right? (or wanted to; I never looked too hard into the conclusion of all that.) Yeah, I agree. They're stupid. And what the hell? God is about love, why would he hate America!? They should GTFO, seriously ( ... )

Haha, don't go to church. Just study the religion on your own. ♥

I have always just thought Christianity was the most of evil of all religions, like, when compared to such religions like... Wiccanism. People always assume it's witches and devils and demigods and people dancing around fires making animal sacrifices. I studied the religion for quite awhile back when I was young && all it really is is like... LOVE THE EARTH hippy stuff. No devil. -_-

Yeah. I'm pretty sure they did, but don't quote me on that. Those people seriously need lives. They we're on the Tyra Banks show once. OMG, that was some epic shit. I feel bad for the kids who raised in that church.

I don't think it's right to sway anyone or influence someone into believing in something by trying to scare them. Like, that's why most Christians are Christians. Because they are scared of the Rapture && going to hell.
