Faith steps from the bar into the bedroom she and Max share in the palace of Antar, still holding Yrael carefully in her arms.

"Fair warning, if you walk around here as a cat, you'll be fussed over a lot. We don't have cats around here."

Not that she thinks he'd object to the fussing.

The big pile of polyester fluff brightens as they walk through the door, but is immediately channeled together, out of Faith's arms, to dim into the form of Yrael, standing beside her.

"How very tempting," he smiles, stretching slightly. "But I have been kept in one shape due to being too far away from the door to Milliways in another world, before, and I do not think I would care to be stuck in the shape of a cat, even one so very much fussed over."

He hugs her, suddenly. He had not liked being a pile of fluff. He didn't like being a puppet either, but the fluff was worse.

Faith hugs him back, happily. "I'm glad it worked. And you shouldn't have that problem here. The time difference seems constant between here and the bar."

She slips her hand into his, grinning.

"So, shall I give you the tour?"

"It is not the time difference, really. It is the distance from the Charter. I am not of the Charter, but am tied to it. My shapes that I wear? Are of it. When the connection is stretched too thin, it is almost impossible for me to change shape, or even regain my true shape."

Though there have been exceptions, such as that time in Khemrys' world, where the creature of the Left-Hand Path had wanted Yrael's strength for its own, and tried to trap him.

Yrael doesn't like people trying to trap him.

It was messy.

Yrael grins back. "A tour would be lovely. This is your palace?"

"I see."

Faith will never, ever try to trap him.

"Yes, this is the palace. This is the bedroom Max and I share." She leads him out into the hallway, and to a window, where the planet's two suns are clearly visible.

"Lovely view, isn't it?"
