No, not crossbars... Though I think I've got a few of those around... Useful... but I was talking about crossBOWs, you know, like a bow and arrows? only better.

Cool! Too bad they are too small and cute to be much good with garlic butter... Oh well, it'll make a cute pet.

And yes, defensive spells... Like shields, also things like spells to disarm your opponent, or even trip or stun them... All pretty useful.

Do crabs get red if you boil them? Mine is white. Kuchiki told me.

I dunno... these ones aren't like the kind you cook to eat... those are orange, and the orange ones do turn red like that...

But these ones are a nice pale sandy color... they really are cute.
I don't think I'd recommend boiling it to see, it would just hurt or kill it and I doubt it would make it change color. *eyes the small crab sitting in her desk*

*long pause for thought* And yah... sometimes you will practice on real people, likely myself or other students... But keep in mind, that will only be for some of the milder spells and only in class
