[Review] Northern Oak + Aonia, Whitby 27/7/12

Iron Lord Promotions' second Whitby show! I didn't write this gig up earlier because I went to Wacken in the middle... but here we are, belatedly. This gig was definitely a bit of a two-edged experience for me, because it was absolutely perfect in every regard but one...

What sort of numbers were you hoping for? It's a while since I've been there, but my recollection of Whitby is that it's very small.

Well, the previous gig drew a crowd of thirtyish while this one, where I'd had more practice and was (I thought) targeting the promotion better, drew less than twenty. It's not so much the hard numbers that stressed me out as the fact that the door figures went down rather than up... but then, I'd forgotten about the Olympics thing, so once I remembered that I was less worried, just annoyed at myself! :p

Thanks! I was pretty happy with the results really - the kind words I got from the bands were enough to make my night, as were the actual performances, so I shouldn't complain. :)

Thank you very much! I saw the Northern Oak guys at Bloodstock actually and we were chatting about what a great night we'd all had in Whitby and how fantastic the atmosphere was!
