New Icons

Mother nature is a wonderful thing and nothing seems more beautiful to me than these galaxies, clusters and nebulae, oh and the one that looks like a gas bubble is actually the remnant of a supernova and the famous crab nebula. I know I should have labelled them with their classification numbers but that would have spoiled them.

Icons this way )

lol My sister refers to the human race as 'a pimple on the bum of the universe!' while I don't agree with her decription I do believe we are of no importance in the grand scheme of things, whatever we do, however we do it the universe will go on with or without mankind.

I think LJ owes me some new icons, given that they've charged me my annual dues. But so far I can't add anything new yet. Don't worry about going all science geek with technical info... it's not like any life forms that might be living out there would go by those designations. ;)

They keep giving me icons, so far I'm up to 198! I have a permanant account so I don't pay annually anymore. I still have to pay for my other account though and I need to do some stuff over there, it needs a colour change, some new icons and some new stuff posted. I wish my muse would come home, I miss him! lol I think he might be lurking around as I have had a couple of false starts on things but nothing worth posting has come my way.

lol I know but someone might ask me and then I'd be stumped. I think the andromeda one is my favourite, the icon doesn't do it justice, it has to bee seen as a big picture.

I missed out on the big Permanent Account sale, and they haven't offered them again lately. Which is just as well given how broke I am. I haven't had any serious creative inspiration in years, which is depressing, but I think life sometimes gets in our way. And so far it's always come back... eventually. ;)

I think these galaxies look different from every angle depending on what time of year it is, when the photo was taken, whether it was enhanced, etc... and we're seeing how they looked thousands of years ago anyhow because they're so far away. So in the end, beauty has to trump scientific precision. ;)

All of the pictures are enhanced to show the elemental colours that are there. Black and white pictures of galaxys are so boring. Andromeda is my favourite because of the glorious blue colour produces, I forget which element that may be.
