Stress gave him headaches and this one felt like his brain was being ripped open. To say that it was a long day was an understatement that he didn’t want to bother with.

He would dance around the issue, saying that all he needed was some sleep and he’d be fine. But somehow Murphy made him talk about it anyway. An officer dead, a mole in the lab and now his team was under federal investigation.

Almost broken, upset and in pain, she took him anyway. Horatio did not believe in ‘fucking the pain away’ but this was Murphy.

He came hard, burying his face in the veil of her hair. Hiding from the bullshit that would claim him the moment he walked out the door.

“Look at me.” She had to say it twice before he complied and relaxed his back on the mattress. “I have such a thing for blue eyes.”

That earned a grin from him and he realized his headache was gone.
