Eridan Ampora
Prince of Time, Land of Wrath and Melody
Maroon Eridan is plagued by the voices of the dead, who annoy the ever-loving shit out of him. He does what they ask him to because he just wants them to shut the fuck up for once god you are dead rest in peace or something leave me alone. He's a huge whiner and self-absorbed, except his intense self-pity is more because of the voices than romance, although he still fails at keeping anyone around quadrant-wise.
He has no interest in archaeology, and only begins to dig up what will be the code for Sgrub to shut up the dead. Eridan FLARPs because picking off other trolls is a really great way to distract yourself from the shortwave radio in your head. He likes to think he's some kind of exception to the blood castes and is destined for greatness, which the voices assure him is true. Unfortunately they didn't tell him that this would involve death. He's just as useless a Hero of Time as Aradiabot was, except that his failure stems from an inability to understand timeloops and how to manipulate the timeline rather than from apathy.
Eridan is killed while the trolls are playing Sgrub, but doesn't return to aid them because his awakened dreamself is trapped in the crypt on Derse. He spends the time until Jack destroys Derse and inadvertently allows him to reach God Tier alone with nothing but his thoughts and failures to keep him company.
Sollux Captor
Mage of Breath, Land of Sand and Fire
As a brownblood Sollux's psionics are even more powerful, but he lacks the voices of the dead and apocalyptic visions. However he's still a master programmer and has plenty of headaches anyway because Eridan is always pestering him about the voices and the game and maybe a quadrant? Sollux still has a low tolerance for bullshit and being social, and Eridan's constant bugging only serves to make him testier. He's only programming Sgrub because Feferi thinks it's a good idea as well, and it's nice to do nice things for the people who tolerate you.
Without the voices of the dead, Sollux is more willing to show off his psionics and regularly particpates in FLARP. Unfortunately this culminates in having his eyes put out after a near-fatal encounter with Terezi. He sees and feels his surroundings with his psionics, so it's not an impediment at all, but it does bring on his intense self-loathing and prompts him to program Sgrub in earnest. thii2'll end the world? GOOD RIIDDANCE
Feferi Peixes
Witch of Doom, Land of Brains and Glass
Yellow Feferi is rather similar to how the original universe's alive Aradia was, in that she can hear the voices of the dead and has awful visions but is still a very cheerful and upbeat girl. She's absolutely of the belief that just because the world is going to end and they're all going to die doesn't mean that things aren't going to all work out for the best anyway, which makes her more than a little creepy.
She's more than happy to follow the plan the voices have set out for her, and to this end she keeps in close contact with Eridan in order to interpret and guide the voices he hears in tandem with her own. He kind of pathetically thinks she's trying to cultivate a matespritship with him when she's really just using him to get Sgrub up and running. Feferi likes Sollux much better, although the outpouring of rage he spews after his blinding is more than a little alarming to her.
She's still a little social butterfly, keeping tabs on all twelve trolls. Some are more for the sake of making sure they stay alive long enough to enter the game, while others are genuine friendships. Beyond her voices and visions she doesn't really have psychic powers.
Aradia Megido
Maid of Heart, Land of Little Cubes and Quartz
Green Aradia is more of a gypsy than a feral child - she spends all of her days exploring and discovering new places rather than hunting. She had a hive but hasn't been back to it in sweeps, preferring to keep moving and finding new things with her lusus in tow. It's very difficult to get hold of her because she leaves her computer at whatever is serving as her current campsite and forgets to circle back and pick it up when they leave.
The best person to contact to find out what she's up to is Karkat because she likes to show up in his forest sometimes and listen to him curse her out from his hive, which makes her think he's incredibly silly. She's something of a packrat kleptomaniac, thoughtlessly picking up things she likes from both her excavation sites and the hives of friends she's visiting. Aradia is aware that her mobile lifestyle can leave friends feeling disconnected from her, and solves this by dressing in the colors of her best friends to at least symbolically keep them with her all the time.
Vriska Serket
Thief of Space, Land of Maps and Frogs
Vriska is a lot less vicious because she doesn't have Spidermom looming over her head. She's still incredibly confident and arrogant, but this is because she feels her unique blood color puts her up and out of the hemospectrum and nobody can touch her because of that. She has
no interest in fashion beyond draping herself in jade fabric to shove her blood color even further in everyone's faces. Instead she spends most of her time fighting the zombies around her her hive with her lusus because FUCK IS THAT AWESOME OR WHAT.
It's so awesome, in fact, that she doesn't FLARP because she feels zombie killing is much more rewarding. When Vriska was younger her inexperience caused her to lose an eye, but in the present she's far too skilled to get injured and feels the empty socket and scarring are a pretty sweet badge of honor. She doesn't have any legacy to live up to but secretly feels a little alienated because of the weird things her blood color comes with, such as staying up in the daytime. She'd never mention this, though, as she feels no one would respect her if they knew.
Karkat Vantas
Knight of Mind, Land of Thought and Haze
Teal Karkat is still a compact ball of rage, but he's angry for completely different reasons. Unlike the original universe's Terezi, his lusus never reaches out to him. Ever. He's absolutely furious about this and the precarious culling position it puts in him, although it's mostly negated thanks to his remote hive location. Unfortunately Karkat never developed a particular propensity for climbing trees and constantly falls out and off his hive. There are large parts of his day spent just hating his wrigglerself for deciding a fucking tree was a good place to put a hive.
Because he has no guidance he's spent a lot of time aggressively reading up on every aspect of troll culture he can get his hands on and tends to sound like he swallowed a travel brochure for Alternia if allowed to ramble unchecked. He has a massive leader complex, mostly born from wanting to prove he's not such a failure that not even his lusus wants him. That complex is the driving reason beyond why he FLARPed, although another reason that he'd never discuss is to keep an eye on the friends that also played.
Gamzee Makara
Bard of Light, Land of Treasure and Mirth
Gamzee and Tavros had a debacle during childhood that needs to be explained in order to explain how they are now. Gamzee, being both a child and significantly less violent than his sober indigoself, didn't want to face the fact that he'd have to kill other trolls in order to keep his lusus alive. He ignored the problem in the hope that it would solve itself somehow, but unfortunately all it did was cause Daddy Longlegs to starve and lash out at Gamzee to try and get himself something to eat. Gamzee panicked and called out to Tavros for help; Tavros tried to calm down/subdue Gamzee's lusus, but because he can't control his own strength actually ended up killing Daddy Longlegs.
After this incident Tavros refuses to leave his house for any reason for fear he might hurt someone again, and Gamzee is left without a guardian and traumatized. Desperate to repress the awful memories he started eating sopor slime on the advice of Kanaya, who had been trying to encourage Terezi to take up the practice. The slime has the added effect of killing Gamzee's maniupl8 abilities, which he can't control and doesn't really want to begin with. He's nowhere near as stoned as Indigozee, just perpetually sleepy and slow on reaction time. Taking him off the slime wouldn't have any disastrous effects beyond unblocking his mind control, which could be worked through if anyone cared to try and help him figure out how it worked.
He's an incredibly forgiving person, bearing no grudge against Tavros for the whole incident. There's very little that could genuinely upset him, and considering his uncontrollable abilities no one is really interested in finding out what that little is.
Tavros Nitram
Page of Void, Land of Zephyr and Silence
As previously mentioned, Tavros a complete shut-in and has been for several sweeps. Despite the fact that Gamzee has repeatedly said he isn't upset over what happened and entreats him to come visit he won't leave his house and maintains contact with trolls only via computer. He's extremely hesitant and reserved because of a debilitating fear of hurting someone again, which makes him extremely passive and easy to push around. He has no proclivity for robot making and instead likes to feed stray animals by leaving food out in his lawnring, although he never touches them.
Once the trolls enter Sgrub he once again is kind of useless because he spends the majority of his time asleep, as dream mechanics make it possible for him to dampen his strength and interact with people like a normal troll would be able to. The destruction of the dreamselves hit him even harder than his original universe counterpart because it basically takes away (in his mind) his only way of making friends. Nepeta makes a point of talking with him very often, because she's worried that if she and Gamzee don't he might die in his hive and have nobody notice.
Terezi Pyrope
Seer of Rage, Land of Tents and Flow
Terezi is not stoned and has never been stoned, excepting a brief time when Kanaya tried to get her hooked on slime to no avail. Terezi is still incredibly into justice, except her idea of bringing order to the planet is to follow the path of the subjugglators and murder the fuck out of everyone. She's incredibly unhinged but also methodical, following a mockery of actual courtroom and detective procedures. What this means is that she hasn't killed any of the other eleven before the game because she is 'collecting evidence' against them and getting to know them in order to 'profile them' and think up a punishment to fit each person and their supposed crime.
Very few people talk to her willingly or on a regular basis, the exceptions being Vriska (who is overconfident and thinks that Terezi couldn't touch her) and Kanaya, who is her moirail. This Terezi FLARPs too, but she's incredibly brutal and much more prone to killing troll and lusus alike. She's responsible for blinding Sollux, as she ripped out his eyes because she was fascinated by their bifurcated colors as opposed to regular troll eyes. The only reason he survived the encounter was because Karkat swooped in and distracted her long enough for the both of them to abscond the fuck out of there.
Kanaya Maryam
Sylph of Hope, Land of Rays and Angels
Like her jade counterpart Kanaya has had her dreamself awake for most of her life, which is why she is still very level-headed and calm despite the spectrum boost. As previously mentioned, she's Terezi's moirail. This is mostly because Kanaya is positive that without someone at least trying to contain her, Terezi would rampage pretty quickly. She doesn't like letting her FLARP but allows it to continue because as her rail Terezi makes gifts of all the corpses, which are promptly fed to Equius' lusus.
Kanaya is still a busybody, and is constantly up in Equius' face over his future policies (Because Really Equius Culling Is Just So Draconian) and always trying to figure out some way to keep his lusus quiet that doesn't involve killing things. She's been as successful in that endeavor as in keeping Terezi in check, but it certainly isn't for lack of trying. She herself doesn't FLARP, but uses the swag Terezi keeps dumping on her doorstep to deck herself out in some sweet clothing.
She also tends to a coral reef underneath her hive which is her pride and joy. Kanaya is one of the few to wonder at the gender disparity between Equius' lusus and himself, although she's way too busy being trapped in all her meddling to give it much more than a passing thought.
Equius Zahhak
Heir of Life, Land of Caves and Dew
This is the motherfucking Heir Apparent, and don't you be forgetting it. Equius loves his position on the top of the blood pyramid, and absolutely cannot wait to be Emperor and start ordering the entire fleet around like a boss. Despite this and being in general a very tradition-oriented person, there are still some things that give him pause. His moirallegiance with Nepeta, for example, is something he cherishes dearly. However, she is (to his knowledge) a landdweller. Not only that, but she has refused to give him her blood color, and had the audacity to tell him that it doesn't matter. Repeatedly.
He doesn't understand why he's so fascinated with her constant flouting of tradition and encouragement for him to do the same (he's unwilling to admit he gets off to being ordered around by inferiors) but he does know that this probably isn't very Heir-like behavior. Equius isn't very keen on what his lusus has been whispering to him, and actually tries to overfeed it to keep it completely silent. His insecurities would probably have manifested themselves into violent attacks on landdwelling trolls if not for the combined influence of Nepeta and Kanaya.
