Ugh. A friend of a friend wrote a blog post about how happy she was to go to a Mexican restaurant that "didn't have the typical Portland feel." IT IS A METROPOLITAN AREA THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MEXICAN RESTAURANTS.

Also: if you find a lot of your life boring / unsatisfying, the common factor is you.

That is ridiculous. For the most part I think that the internet has been an amazing communications tool, but some of it does actually actively foster this idea that there are people apart from yourself living super cool lives everywhere that you're somehow separated from on account of the place you are currently located.
