Almost not even a fic post. [Fic-ish things inside, though]

Obviously this journal (and my fanfic writing in general) has been subject to merciless neglect as of late, but the dusty vaults of my documents folders are actually not totally empty. I haven't had the time or inspiration to write anything new since like, summer of last year, but I'm starting to feel a bit lonely for this journal. And I've been ( Read more... )

Love these - beautiful! I love your narrative voice, I have to say (I commented on the other parts on FF.net :D), and I really hope more is coming soon... Adore high-school Jesse (he's adorable) and... just... more... please. <3

Ahah, I haven'ts signed into FF net recently but I happened to see your review on there the other day, so double thank you for that and this one<3 Really really really glad you like it, and I hope to write something more for this series soon, too. I haven't in awhile, but S4 has definitely been inspiring. Thanks again for reviewing!

I also wanted to add (I forgot to mention it in my FF.net review) that I adored the cactus from Saul. That made my day :D

Heh heh, yeah I dunno what it is about the cactus but I liked it too.~
Also agreed on S2. There was still lots of death and meth-slinging, but it was somehow a simpler time... lol

SPEAKING OF MASTERPIECES. Christmas in Alberquerque is clearly your magnum opus. I read it in parts, then reread all in one go, and with every paragraph I was like HOLY SHIT WHERE DID THIS COME FROM, because I'd just finished reading your other fics, some of which where awesome and some of which were okay. For some reason I made a conscious decision to read this one last, only to discover that the writing and content was miles and leagues and light-years above even the best of your shorter fics. Seriously. I was blown away. Even the descriptions of the weather felt just right. The immersion into Jesse's depression in the first chapter was so complete reading it felt like going through a painful, beautiful, eternal state of Purgatory. And the way you pulled of Walt's POV in Paroxysm was INCREDIBLE. And credible. Your flashbacks alone, both in that chapter and in the above post, could count as masterpieces. At one point I actually felt compelled to read aloud to my mom that one scene where a younger Jesse asks Walt why he became a ( ... )

Heheh I understand, I'm extremely picky about fanfics too (especially those dealing with pairings I have a strong interest in!), and my writing still has a lot of technical and stylistic flaws, even at this late date. Your critiques are totally valid and appreciated, although I'll admit some of them made me blush a little. :P
In some defense of my weaker or more questionable moments, I was just a lame teenager who really loved the show. >u< There were almost no fics for Breaking Bad around when I was at the height of my obsession with it, I don't think I'd ever have worked up the courage to post anything if this hadn't been the case ( ... )

Noooo, from your use of past tense I am getting the impression that you have effectively moved on and left the Breaking Bad fandom. T_T I hope the premiering of the last 8 episodes sparks a return of the obsession that produced all your fic.

I can totally understand feeling out of touch with an old story and not wanting to mar its charm. Butbutbut you said you already had parts of a fourth part written; perhaps you could upload those fragments for our reading pleasure, like you did with those two flashbacks? You might even get feedback that inspires those creative juices to start flowing again...

Anyway, I rarely comment (or feel like commenting) on fic because 1)I don't feel strongly enough about the work in question, and/or 2)when I do I inevitably end up writing a novel or two in response. So thank you for putting up with and appreciating my verbosity; I hope I at least subliminally rekindle the urge to continue writing for this fandom. ;D
