Thanks sapph! I'm glad you mentioned Claire's role. I wanted Claire to seem like Charlie's guardian angel in this fic. Claire is like the antidote to both Charlie's sleazy rockstar lifestyle and his current sexual degradations with Bonnie and Greta. The fact that CCs relationship remained pure and chaste just makes this stronger.

Survivors guilt! That is a great way of putting it. Greta's death is especially tramatic for Charlie, because he felt a bond with her and felt like she was a prisoner too. And unlike Charlie, Greta wasn't prepared to die, she just really wanted to go home...and to cap it off it was her birthday! *sniff* I knew I wanted Charlie to live in this story, but I still wanted an angsty tragic ending so...sorry Greta and Bonnie (RIP).

I'm such a huge C/C shipper I just can't help myself. I was so thrilled when you included her in Charlie's thoughts (as guardian angel type figure as you said) and I admit I might've been a bit offended had you not =P The fact that CCs relationship remained pure and chaste just makes this stronger. - YES. Yesyesyesyesyes. Couldnt have said it better myself.

Poor Greta - talk about a sucky birthday!

I don't know what to feel! Am I happy because Charlie, Claire & Aaron get rescued? Or am I sad because Greta & Bonnie died & now Charlie's going to be all sad? Either way that was one awesome fic! I really liked the whole birthday party scene & the ending was just SO sad, that definitely tugged at my heart-strings. It was just so weird, I seriously don't know how to feel, I mean I loved the fic but am I supposed to be angry at Charlie because he's supposed to be loyal to Claire or am I supposed to feel for him because he lost friends?
Gah, this is so confusing. But you did a great job with it & I really enjoyed reading it!

Thanks Meg! I know, it's very mixed emotions at the end there (sorry about that!). Desmond finally gives Charlie a GOOD prophecy, but it comes at a time when Charlie is too broken up and tortured to feel happy about it.

I wouldn't really say that Charlies relationship with Bonnie and Greta is cheating on Claire. Charlie never had sex with Claire and (as I've suggested in this fic) Charlie feels like sex is meaningless next to love. But I do think he had a bond with Greta and feels responsible for her death.

Don't be sorry if you could draw so much emotion out of me then I celebrate your writing! The ending was so great how you had the happiness & the sadness all mixed together

Well, that was fun! :D In spite of being one of them there non-slash (and heck, non-porn even) readers I enjoyed this one. :) I liked the psychological aspect too -- the bit of a Stockholm Syndrome thing going on, that Charlie felt affection for Greta even though he knew how twisted it all was. And the ending is so sad. :(

I wish they hadn't been killed off on the show. I know Bonnie was a nasty piece of work, but I liked her. :P

Wow Jelly, I didn't think you'd read this, but thanks! You're so right about the Stockholm Syndrome (though I hadn't thought about it like that till you said it) There was definitely some capture bonding going on with Charlie and Greta.

I gotta say I liked Bonnie too. The Bonnie/Charlie scenes were one of the few things I enjoyed about the S3 finale. Bonnie was just a hardcore bitch. Reminded me of Ana Lucia/Chana.

Hehe! Don't feel like you have to read just to be polite. I understand that a lot of fans aren't into fic. But if you'll make the exception for my writing that's really sweet! Try and get into 'Trials' if you can because I think that fic features a lot of your favs...not just Des and Charlie, but Ben, Locke, Mikhail, etc.

I really liked this. What a great way to imagine an alternate and totally (to me, anyway) believable storyline. I thought you portrayed Greta's and Bonnie's character so well, and their obsessive relationship with each other and then with Charlie. I really enjoyed reading this!

Thanks Zelda! Greta and Bonnie were great to write for because their characters were barely drawn on the show, so I got to invent their whole relationship and their strange isolated existence for myself.

Congratz on being named author of the month!! Go you...
