This was a fascinating story and totally engaging. I loved the Charlie & Sayid interaction.
I'm so glad you're still writing!

Thanks! S4 is bringing me down as a Charlie fan but as a Sayid fan it's great to see him finally getting a meaty storyline. I have to admit the new lostsquee challenges are giving me ideas too!

I'm afraid I can't really imagine an ending for Sayid that isn't tragic anymore. He's so burdened by pain and sin that I don't think he'll ever be at peace with himself. I think Nadia is the only one who could bring Sayid peace and now they can only be together in "the next life".
I don't feel like Ben ever truly felt remorse for stealing Danielle's child and it's a terrible thing to do to a mother. It felt fitting that Ben should recieve his comeuppance from her.
There are a lot of suggestions that there is a sense of karma on the island, but when it comes to Charlie I just don't get it. Like you say he gave up everything to save his friends, but his sacrifice only caused further chaos. I need to believe that Charlie's heroic act will be given true meaning and value some day.

Again, it feels great to have him been more ao
Um, what I meant to say was it feels great to have Charlie be for the most part, so confident about everything, well except where Claire and Aaron were concerned. That bit was heartbreaking.
As for Charlie's acts only creating more chaos, I've got to wonder if whether so much of what doesn't sit right about Charlie's arc in those episodes was due to the writers being in a rush to fit everything in for the finale; maybe they just couldn't manage to make it work, and get the plot developments they wanted for the next season. IDK.
The idea of Sayid and Nadia together in the next life is a rather comforting one, btw. I really would like Sayid to find some sense of redemption. For a long time, he seems to have been running on fumes.

I have very little respect for the Lost writers these days. I can't make excuses for their poor handling of character arcs and the lack of continuity. They are just ignoring their plotholes. It's very sloppy careless writing. Time constraints aren't an excuse either. There was plenty of redundant filler in S4.
One thing I'm really appreciating about BSG is its care over the continuity and character development of both the major and minor players. You don't get that on Lost anymore. The show is a mess.
Excuse my ranting! I was asking on your fic journal if you have any recs for me from your own archive? Have you?
