*sigh* That was really nice, that "thank you". I love the way you described pre-crash Charlie, kind of innocent and not quite grown up yet. My heart breaks for Des and Faraday, though.

And I hate that Charlie's list and his DS ring haven't been mentioned in the episodes. >.<

I think it'd be cool for Charlie/Faraday to become kind of a fandom cult. *g* I think a lot of people who loved Charlie now love Faraday; they're both kind of spastic and adorable.

Guh. I'm having to block out the show now. I can't believe how Charlie's death and everything he gave his life for has been brushed under the carpet in S4.

Yeah, I can certainly see why the same fans would like Charlie and Faraday. In some ways they are very different, chalk and cheese, but they are both sweet dorky men who offer a refreshing change from all the macho male hunks.

This is amazing. It's bittersweet and truthful, too adorable for words and heartbreaking all at once. Something like this needs to happen on the show, in my opinion, to sort of bring closure to everything.

I had a really rough day today but this just made me smile so huge (and tear up simultaneously). I adored the dynamic between these three, especially Dan's general awkwardness and especially at the end in Des and Daniel's shared absence of Charlie.

"Faraday imagined the course correction was at work right now, protecting the timeline from further paradoxes."
^I loved how you worded that, and all of explanations of fate working its ways. You made it feel like something uncomplicated and definite, which is how I imagine Des would have to look at fate after everything he's been through.

All in all, it's picture perfect to me. *adds to mems*

Thank you so much! What a lovely comment.

Well I'm glad if I made you smile at the end of a rough day, even with the rather depressing nature of this fic. I'm so glad you liked my course correction explanations. And I agree, as a hardcore Charlie/Des fan I really need some closure on this issue and I'm not getting it on the show at all.

Oh, loving your icon, btw!

They both knew their memories might as well have been piles of dust that the universe was slowly sweeping under its vast carpet to keep the timeline tidy. No, no…there was nothing. Only mist and fragments now. There was no clear picture of Charlie anymore. But Faraday found it strange that every time Desmond played his Driveshaft CDs, they both began to cry.

… *bursts into tears*

This - this was wonderful. From Dan and Desmond on the island to Dan being so out of place in the concert (with his bottle of mineral water lol), Dan mistaking Liam for Charlie and being so incredibly uncomfortable in the orgasmic throng backstage, Charlie’s youthful naïveté and charm, Dan taking care of him, Charlie’s insistence that he wrote all DriveShaft’s songs and how he wanted to save people through his music, Dan delivering the thank you to him by writing on his hand echoing his final heroic moments in the Looking Glass and then the end where Desmond and Dan are trying to remember Charlie but can’t ( ... )

Thanks sapphie! I know you and pace were spoiled so I'm pleased this fic still had an emotional impact on you. Thanks for encouraging me to write it. I was nervous about writing Dan but is awkwardness came so naturally in that environment. And I loved writing Charlie from his giddy wannabe days too *cuddles him*.

Thanks again!

Sometimes being spoiled almost adds to it because you're expecting the punch line. Like I watched RBA knowing that Claire was abducted and Charlie went emo after he got hung and that when Claire got back she wouldn't remember him. So I'm bawling my eyes out over the credits and my friend is like "dude, wtf? They'll be fine!" and I was practically wailing going "NO THEY WON'T! MY OTPPPPPPPP!"

Another good example was me watching GH/TTLG knowing what was going to happen to Charlie in the end. Man, that was painful. I was so messed up watching them for the first time. So anyway my point is that I was still emotionally invested in your story =P *likes to ramble*

Trust me, I was plenty nervous writing Charlotte. I rewrote that Charlotte+Claire fic I just posted like, five times till I was happy. You did well with Dan in this, you really did.

You are most welcome =)

Oh, now that really was good! There were so many things I liked here!

So, uhm, going from the start, awesome concept. I could totally see everything happening, from Des trying to get Faraday to save Charlie to the way you've gone AU with this because at least Charlie's death actually granted what he had wanted. The freighter scene with Penny anchoring Desmond just made my stomach butterflies flutter *sighs*. And I think it was very Faraday to go and give Charlie Desmond's message at least because when such a guy is your constant you can't do nothing, right? ;)

That said, LOL at Daniel liking Dolly Parton. The mental image makes me giggle hysterically but that'd be so awesome. And poor him, having to go to the backstage as squishable and antisocial as he is! *squishes Dan* Liam was actually very Liam, good cameo ;) while the whole encounter with Charlie was very touching and very true to both characters, I loved how Faraday talks in music metaphors and of course your Charlie voice.

“He’s…yeah, I guess that he’s a fan of yours…” ( ... )

Thank you so much, Janie! You give such great feedback.

you've gone AU with this because at least Charlie's death actually granted what he had wanted Errr, yeah. Was it like to much to ask that if Charlie was forced to die, that his sacrifice at least achieved it's aim? Maybe they'll find a way to make it meaningful later on (since Penny could use Charlie's transmission to out the 06) but for now it seems we get no closure or silver lining ( ... )

That was ... oi, it was depressing! But beautiful, in how Dan wishes he could help Charlie, but is powerless to really do anything. And Raymond, omg. *snort* That was a neat touch. :D But so sad, again, in how both Dan & Desmond gradually lose their memories of Charlie.

You're right; the (so far) 3 Dan/Charlie fics (yours, mine, alixzin's) are so completely different. This was beautiful.

Yeah, I know, I felt quite sad myself about how grim and fatalistic this turned out. I'm glad you found beauty in the bleakness. I'm crossing my fingers for more Charlie/Dan fic. Nice to see you've joined charlielives!

I joined charlielives b/c Charlie has always been my favourite (though Dan's right up there too). I don't know why I didn't join that comm before, actually. And yes! More Charlie/Dan fic should be... well, everywhere. You should start a ... something. Or other. :D I would totally join a Charlie/Dan comm.
