Summary: Angst/humour fic. Naomi's people arrive on the island and kill everyone in sight. Desmond is sent hurtling back through time and space. He meets with Charlie Pace in a series of alternative realities and together they attempt to alter the course of fate.

Thanks pace! It's kinda depressing. I'm trying to think what Des could change to ensure Charlie survives and the most effective thing I could come up with is...not meeting Claire. So tragic how Claire both is the best thing in Charlie's life and the reason he dies.

Thats another reason why it was important for Des to take Charlie on the boat in this fic, to save him from his drugs period. It's not hard to believe that Charlie was doomed, but it does feel very wrong that his redemption didn't change his fate.

Can I say ditto to what pace said? Great way to finish this very original story. I had to laugh at Charlie flirting with Lucy. Good to know Des intervention not only saved Charlie but also Liam from addition. Mrs Hawking showing up was a nice way to tie everything... although I was spoiled by your intro. ;)

Yup. In this timeline Des does more than save Charlies life - by taking him on that boat for three years he saves him from drugs/Driveshaft and his bust up with Liam. Cool huh?! Thanks for reading.

This was so great! So original. I loved it all. The image of Charlie eating all of Penny's best and most expensive food had me laughing as well as Desmond and Charlie drunk had me laughing.

I love how you ended this, too. Desmond telling Charlie to call Claire and THAT song. So good.

Best ending ever! That was such a happy & good ending after all the other shit Desmond went through & it just made me 'aww' out loud & grin so much...well done this was a really good story & the ending just owned it all - pure brilliance!

Wow! Thanks meg! I don't know how any writer could fail to give Des and Charlie a happy ending (scowls at Darlton) I mean after all they have been through they really deserve it.
