YAY book recommendations!
For your reading pleasure, I suggest: - Memoirs of a Geisha (the book is even more amazing than the movie!) - The Queen's Fool by Phillipa Gregory (this one especially I think you would find interesting... the others are awesome too, but sometimes border on being romance novels...) - Bless Me, Ultima (I have no clue what the author's name is)
That's all I've got... Phillipa Gregory has had me pretty well locked down for the last year or so... her books are SO LONG.
As for recs, I would say that you should try David Mitchell. Start with Cloud Atlas.
I also recently read Special Topics in Calamity Physics, a novel by...oh shoot. The author's last name was Pessl, I believe. It surprised me, which is good.
And if you're in a more lighthearded mood and want a laugh, read some Christopher Moore.

um...I'm reading "Good-bye to all that" by Robert Graves, and it's OK.
