Things To Be Covered

May 06, 2007 07:31

I have a couple of things that I want to cover before I hit the sack for my first real good sleep in a few days. Mostly they're nothing much, but some of them are worth mentioning, if only for posterities sake. And if there's anyone out there actually reading this that I'm not just going to tell anyway. :P

One of the people in my training group (of which there were four total) has quit. She didn't do a two-week's notice or anything. Just quit. I find this to be the most morally reprehensible way of quitting. I mean, I could understand if a kid punched you in the throat a dozen times or smashed your head into the wall a bit or such ... but ... just because you decide you don't like it? Nuh-uh.

Hence, one of the people coming in Saturday morning got stuck overnight. So I picked up half of her shift in the morning and someone else picked up the other half. So I did another twelve hour thing. Only this time it was in Courage, who are a lot better behaved. And it was on a non-school day, so I got to see what that was like.

I also got to inventory one of the newer girl's clothes. Which means she goes through her clothes and tells me what they are and I write them down. So when they leave they get them back. Awkward moments in inventorying bras. Just write them down as "misc" or by color and size? I went with misc and the number of them. Because ... um ... that would have been weird.

After I got done at work and the other person relieved me, I left a message with the apartment fellow in Blue Earth. Hopefully I'll be moving into it sometime next week. I'll probably be living less furnitured for a bit until I find everything I need/want, but all you really need is a bed and sheets... For a bit.

I slept after that, then woke up and talked to the most wonderful, beautiful girl of mine ... Okay, that was oddly phrased. No, I don't have a bevy, just the one. ... Okay. Anyways. After that I went to work again and it was pretty boring and straightforward. Some of the new hires were working as we were terribly short-shifted and PM staff got stuck (like ... four of them).

Oh! I got the 19th-22nd off, so I'm going to be driving back to West Virginia to pick up stuff and visit. Provided that nothing explodes and no dragons invade. And if dragons do invade, maybe I can get rid of them one of the days when I'm working and still make it. I'll have to talk to the Dragon Union rep about it though. He might not take kindly to such an offhand dispatching of a dragon. They do have their reputations to uphold, y'know.

Once again, not a whole lot to cover. I downloaded a bootleg copy of Spirit of the Century (hush, you, I'm going to buy it eventually) to read and stave off my tabletopping addictions. Or am I just making them worse by reading the sourcebooks? Hmmmm. Who can really tell?
