Absolutely fascinating. I've seen bits and pieces of Shada footage (as has anyone who watched The Five Doctors and have long wondered what sort of beast it would have been. Never knew the script was unfinished as well as unproduced. Wow.

I'm assuming Roberts is keeping it as a Four/Romana story rather than trying to update it to Eleven/Amy/Rory?

When I say the script was unfinished, I'm taking Roberts' word for it to some extent. He says the script was not as complete as he would have expected an Adams script to be and considering the stories potential from the concepts discussed. He goes on to say with so much happening in Adams life at the time and considering subsequent interviews with Adams it was most likely pushed out the door at 80% stage becaquse they had to start shooting. Some scenes in the later episodes appeared rushed and concepts developed in the early episodes were not paid off. Roberts has drifted from the script in his attempt to correct this.

And yes Fourth Doctor/Second Romana/Second K-9. About four years ago Shada was recorded on CD as a radio-play style production with Lalla Ward, John Leeson and,... Paul McGann. The story was tweaked to create a sitaution where the story saw the Eighth Doctor stepping into the role in story. Confused? So was the Tardis. May week is in June...
