[After browsing the journals today, Frey’s been stuck by a bit of curiosity in regards to today and the festivities. Really, the amount of people who know of this holiday is astounding, yet Luceti is filled with people from different worlds.

So, rather then ask a rather bland question he‘s heard before already, he‘ll go with the opposite.]

We have something different than Valentine's Day in my world, but there's some similarities... [And somehow, she's okay with sharing these sacred traditions with you.]

[For whatever reason, Zan'nen feels strangely compelled to jump into this conversation. In fact, he's... hoping they'll ask him more about it.] In my world there's something similar too, but it's pretty much the same idea.

Oh, and Kaori... I... I've something I wanted to give you.

Really? What is it like? [His interest is perked.... by both the holiday discussion and this new person.]

And you are....?

Well, it's celebrated on the equivalent of the first day of April here. When all the territories are blooming with flowers.

[... Zan'nen why isn't she the slightest bit upset with you and where did you come from?] What is it, Zan'zan...?

There isn't such a holiday where I'm from, this is the first I've heard of it.

I've never heard of one like it. There might be something similar up north, I guess.

Where ever its origins are from, it seems to be well celebrated here.

Indeed. I wonder how many worlds celebrate it....?

In my world, Valentine's Day is a fairly old holiday; a few hundred years as it's celebrated now. It began as a holiday named for Christian saints over a thousand years ago, but has come to be a day to celebrate romantic affection. In Japan, where I'm from, girls give chocolate to the boys they like.

I've heard something similar from my roommate..... so they give chocolate to show affection?

That's right. It's like a declaration of love. Especially if the chocolate is hand-made instead of store-bought.

[A bit of warmth creeps into the voice, almost enough to call it dreamy, now that the fact dump is over.]

Of course. Just like a homecooked meal is always better then something store bought, because it was made with care.

We've got something like it back home but everybody's usually too busy to do much for it.

You don't have Valentine's Day where you come from?

Not that I can recall, no. There might be such a custom elsewhere in my world, though.
