Who: Euram and Jewel
What: Being cuter than should be allowed...I mean really >.>
Where: The broken ship
Warning: Changes from script to prose midway through. We started in script and then decided we needed more words to express what was going through their heads so we switched. If you've got a problem with that...we don't really care :).

Euram: ::staring at the no longer frozen water from the far side of the boat. His hair is still styled mostly up, but with enough free to obviously be covering half of his face:: Hmm…

Jewel: ::Having just gotten off shift at the infirmary, Jewel was headed out to her favorite spot to watch the sunset, but she detours when she spots Euram, walking up beside him:: Hey...... Nice spot isn't it?

Euram: Hmm? ::looks over startled, before calming once he saw who it was:: Ah miss Jewel…yes I had found it so. ::playing with the hair in his face:: I should have known I would not be the only one to have discovered the fine vantage point it offers.

Jewel: No...But the sunset is so beautiful from here. I'm rather surprised so few people know about it. ::Also stares out at the water, somewhat entranced by it::

Euram: I do suppose it is rather out of the way for most to venture. For those who are involved in the hustle and bustle of the castle life….

Jewel: ...That's true....but they don't know what they're missing, yeah? ::Smiles and looks over at Euram::

Euram: ::catches her glance and blushes:: Ah… ::looks up quickly and intently at the sky, hair blocking the majority of his face:: Yes…there are a great many who can properly experience the beauty of a water scene like this.

Jewel: :: Turns back, watching the descending sun paint a myriad of colors across the sky:: Still...I'm glad I don't have to share it with the whole manor. I guess it's selfish, but the peace and quiet really adds to the scene.

Euram: Selfish? Nay, the wish to see the serenity of a beautiful scene without distraction can not be described so. Do not cast such a harsh and unforgiving word on yourself. I shall not forgive it!

Jewel: ::Waves her hands, as if brushing it off with an awkward looking smile:: Hey hey...It's not a big deal.

Euram: I fear I must insist. It is not right for one so caring as yourself to be accused of such an ungenerous pronouncement.

Jewel: ::Really getting embarassed now:: N-no really! I guess I didn't really mean it. :: Sudden subject change:: Hey.....Did you change your hair?

Euram: Erk! ::turns his head away, and brushes at the layer in front of his face:: Hahaha…oh my I have been asked that such a great deal, I was not aware it was so noticeable!

Jewel: :: Taken aback by his reaction:: ...I...was just going to say it looks kind of nice.

Euram: ::blush:: O-oh? My..you are too kind. It is fortunate to know other’s opinions however.

Jewel: ::Nods in reassurance:: Well, it does look nice. What made you change it?

Euram: ::nervously playing with his hair, flattening it further along he cheek:: Ah..ha ha…what indeed…oh I merely thought a change was in order, yes that is it! ::obvious lie is obvious::

Jewel: H-Huh? ::Thinks she notices something as he musses his hair:: Euram...what is..? ::Reaches over and forces a bit of the hair out of the way with no warning, seeing the bruise:: O-Oh my! What happened??

Euram: … ::blink blink:: Happened? What? Haha ::jumps back, quickly putting it back in it’s place:: Why, dear lady, I have no idea of what you are talking about.

Jewel: :: Looking exceedingly worried:: Nonsense! Something happened, and I want to know what. It's okay, you can tell me the truth.....

Euram: … I would not wish to upset you with the details of a mindless act driven by the utmost in barbarism.

Jewel: ::Sighs:: Tell me. ::Not asking this time::

Euram: ::knows that tone:: I would tell you all, but I do not know the thoughts of that crude gladiator, Shoon’s, mind that would bring him to such an act. I merely asked of news of the horrid happenings in my absence and this was the reaction…I do not know why beyond his obvious failings.

Jewel: W-What!? Shoon!? ::Leans on the railing, distressed:: Why...How can you not know the reason..?

Euram: He never acts upon reason! ::Waving his arms childishly in a tantrum:: I expressed the fortune that only one was irreparably harmed in the face of a rune which has destroyed towns and the sun has only seen what else, and this was his reaction! ::close to tears::

Jewel: ::Sighs heavily again, putting a firm yet kind hand on his shoulder:: Hey..It's okay. Calm down...It sounds like it was just a....bit of a misunderstanding.

Euram: A misunderstanding? Of course I should have expected everyone to take his side. Why would they not?

Jewel: ::Shaking her head:: No no no...I'm not taking sides. I mean...I see your point. I really do....but you have to understand that both Shoon and I were there to....see what happened. ::Suddenly looks very downtrauden:: I'm sure he's just upset still. And I'm pretty sure he knew her fairly well. Watching something like that isn't easy...especially not when it's a friend.

Euram: ::looks away again:: So you mean to say I should accept his need to release his frustration upon me? That does seem to be my lot in life. ::much quieter:: my penance.

Jewel: No... He shouldn't have hit you.... I'm not condoning it at all, just trying to get you to understand what may have drove him to it...::Looking at him worried and sad all at once::

Euram: ::only seeing black and white, childishly faces the other way back out at the sunset even though he’s not really watching it:: …

Jewel: ::Comes up behind him, and more reluctantly this time, puts her hand gently on his shoulder:: Hey...It'll be okay. I'm gonna try to talk to him....see if I can't get him to back off a little maybe....

Euram: … ::brings his opposite hand up to cover hers:: Can you not just stay here? ::in a world of black and white he’d much rather have someone choose him, even if he doesn’t deserve it::

Jewel: ::Finally smiling again:: Of course. I didn't mean right now, silly.... Besides. I don't want to miss the sunset. ::Looks out as the sun begins to close the distance between the horizon, and gathers up her confidence before retracting her hand, a moment later leaning her head against his shoulder where it had been::

Euram felt grateful for her continued presence. He’d tended to isolate himself since his problems at Budehuc has started, but he much preferred social interaction, when he could be trusted to not make a larger mess of things. Beyond that, unable to look at the situation objectively it felt as though someone were taking his side, and that was always needed.

His slight smile at this was replaced with confusion the moment he felt her new position. Unable to keep his emotions from plainly showing, his head snapped to look in shock at the unexpected contact. Once he was certain exactly what was going on, he looked away, coughing into his hand to hide his embarrassment. “It…It appears that the sun is taking longer to set than it had. I do hope that means it will become warmer soon,” he said, voice a bit thicker than he’d thought it would be.

His attempt to hide his embarrassment was however futile. Jewel stifled a giggle, as her eyes traced the now brilliant oranges, reds and yellows that the sinking sun projected onto both the sky and the reflection in the lake. "Not too warm, I hope." She was beginning to settle back into her normal contented mood. If Euram were at all unhappy in this new position, it would be lost to her in a blissful ignorance.

It was a good that Euram could be unobservant so that he missed the giggle that would have set him off in another fit of embarrassment. He did not mind her position, but was left wracking his brains with what the proper response was; this was not the high society social event he was used to. “If I recall it will be some months until the heat will cause discomfort,” he said, perfectly content to discuss the weather right now, as his hand found a perfectly gentlemanly spot on Jewel’s shoulder. “For now it will be a welcome respite from the past months I believe.”

A shiver went down her spine as she felt his hand find a resting place on her shoulder. She took in a deep breath, attempting to calm her now quickly beating heart. "I'm certainly happy to be without any extremes in temperature."

The sun was just dipping under the horizon, but for some reason she felt more at ease closing her eyes. Only a moment later however, she opened them with a slight start at a very peculiar 'plop' noise.

Euram was running out of mindless small talk about the weather. While normally he could keep going for quite some time he was a bit distracted at the moment. So distracted he hardly noticed the sound of an early spring bird calling out its return. And why he may not have noticed the noise Jewel heard, he did notice it’s sensation.

Something wet, landing on top of his head and began a slow slip down. His face shifted with his thoughts from surprise to confusion to a horror as he realized what that ghastly bird had just done! “AHHHHHHHHHHHH!” he screamed at the top of his lungs, instantly jumping back and swiping at his hair furiously. Of course this only made the situation worse by sullying his hands as well!

"W..What is it?" Initially frightened by Euram's quick jump and subsequent flailing, Jewel stood back scanning the scene for some kind of clue as to what had happened. It didn't take long to notice the culprit flying up to perch on a rickety mast. It took all the self control she had to not burst out laughing at the scene, but she knew that that it would do nothing but make matters worse. Instead, she ran up to Euram, steadying him with a hand on either shoulder, before pulling out a handkerchief from her pocket, and wiping what she could out of his hair.

"It's okay...no big deal...just a bit of a mess." She spoke calmly. "Good thing you're already so close to the baths...Careful so it doesn't get on your clothes too."

“A bit of a mess? A bit of a?!” Euram shrieked. He loved that he was being coddled, but it didn’t completely make up for the humiliation of what was happening. He only had one true reaction this which overpowered anything else; run away. He pushed away from Jewel’s helping hands and ran towards the baths before her prediction of ruining his clothing could come true.
