1. What is your full name?
Euram Barows
2. Where and when were you born?
July 19, 430
3. Who are/were your parents? Did/do they have occupations?
Lord Salum Barows and Lady Alison Barows. Dad was the head of our faction of the senate. The only people more powerful than him were the Queen and the Commander.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Yes… I have one now, my younger sister Luserina. She looks a great deal like mother and shares her kind heart.
I had two others... my oldest sister and my older brother Hiram. They both died within the same year…it…was devastating to all, but especially to mother.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom?
I currently live alone in Budehuc.
6. What is your occupation?
I am…or was rather as it does not exist here…the heir to a senate seat, perhaps even the Commandership of Falena! The positions do not exist here however…and after such a status I do not see how I could take on any smaller profession.
7. Write a full physical description of the character. (Third Person)
Don't feel like it...in short: Pretty.
8. To which social class do you belong?
The highest of course! What a silly question! Did I not just explain how powerful my Dad is was.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?.
Oh dear no. The tragedy of my sister seems to have been isolated.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I recall once attempting to write with my left, but was quickly taught better!
11. What does your voice sound like?
What an odd question.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Hmm…well I do not like to repeat myself often. There are so many words to be used! It is a shame that so many do not understand that each word has it’s own nuance and should not be used interchangeably with others as they do. ::dramatic sigh::
13. What do you have in your pockets?
A ring A bit of potch. I do not like to carry much. A too full pocket would bulge out in a most unseemly manner.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Me? Haha…of course not! ::wild hand gestures:: Why would one ask such a silly question! A truly preposterous one! Yes…
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
My childhood…oh my…what an interesting question. Well there was a great deal to be learned of course! After…after all it is quite a bit of work to fill Hiram’s responsibilities. There was little time to dally on that front. So much to do and years of catching up as Dad would say. Still…I would describe it as quite happy, with very little to actually worry about.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Hmm…I do remember playing games with Luserina when we were quite young. Slipping away from the nanny was always fun. I am not certain this is my earliest memory but I do remember quite a few of these games.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Extensive of course! Learning everything that must be known to one day run a country is not simply born into one! Even if Hiram required far less time.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Naturally not. School is not meant to be enjoyed. Enjoyment is something to be found after responsibilities have been dealt with for the day!
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From dad and my tutors of course. Though my eye for colors and ability with a paintbrush were never on their planned agenda.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
Oh yes! Dad of course! It was amazing the number of friends and the influence he had with all of them. I tried to be as like him as possible so that I would be able to continue on when it became my turn. It was so much responsibility that he made seem so easy, if only I could have learned to reach the answers and actions he did so readily.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Hiram was so much older and had such responsibility there was little we did together when he was alive…I was younger. Being so close in age I was closest with Luserina. I do believe she was jealous of the responsibilities I was given though as she became so distant…
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
The commander of the Queen’s knights! I would win the fair princess’s heart with my prowess at the sacred games and we would live happily forever more.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Playing hide and seek about the manor was always fun, though Luserina was far better at finding my spots than I was at finding hers.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was quite happy as all children are. Perhaps a bit loud, or spirited as dad would say. A far more splendid time…
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Of course! I was the talk of all of Rainwall! I enjoyed speaking with all of the other wellborn children in the city. Oh, but they must have felt embarrassed to be in my presence, I was the son of their lord after all, as they did not invite me into many of their games.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
…….. Hahaha…I suppose the question does not mean the type of kiss a mother would give, because naturally she would be the one to do so first… Oh but I would not want to bring a blush to the young girl in questions cheeks.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
…A most improper question! It is no one’s business but my own…and the lady’s…I do hope there will be no more vulgar questions in this! Horrible…indecent…
28. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
Well the death of Hiram and the seclusion of my mother of course. I do so want to please her, but I fear I will never be able to fulfill his duties as well as Hiram would have. She would have been more proud of him I am sure. Dad helped me as much as he could of course, but I don’t know if it was enough to ease her pain at his loss.
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
A great deal to choose from…I suppose I would have to say the sacred games. The moment where everything I had dreamed of was so close and it was taken away before my very eyes! That terrible gladiator, if only he hadn’t betrayed I would have everything and I would have had to endure none of the horrible things that have happened since.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Dad of course. For better or for worse, he was always sure to teach me and gave me far more chances than I deserved. I know many of the things we did…oh but perhaps if I had been more able things would have turned out better.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
…
32. What is your greatest regret?
That I still do not know what happened to mother in the end and I am too fearful of what I will find to return to Falena and see
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
… … …
…Allowing Lord Rovere and his family gleefully to be put to death when I knew it should have been Dad and I. And feeling only excitement that we had gotten away with it instead of remorse at the outcome…
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Who have you been talking to?! It..it was… I didn’t mean to…not the first…but everything after. Oh there is no record but for the black marks upon my soul.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
… My so many questions… My one command at the Lordlake Uprising…they were advancing. I swear they were going to overtake us! I swear it…we needed to push forward…
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
… I’ve already answered enough horrible questions I do not see a reason do answer this one as well! ::bright red::
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I would wish Hiram had lived. Everything would have been better. Mother would have been so much happier.
38. What is your best memory?
I remember once, Hiram was off with Dad somewhere and mother took my sisters and I on a picnic. It was during the war of succession I think, but I was too young to really understand that. I knew it was tense at home, but it wasn’t that day. I think it was the last time the four of us were together.
39. What is your worst memory?
…leave me alone.
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Optimistic of course…it is terribly unproductive to think the worst of situations…even if the worst is how it is more likely to turn out.
41. What is your greatest fear?
Fear? My I’m unsure how best to answer. … Maybe I merely won’t… … ….Perhaps…being alone due to my own wicked actions
42. What are your religious views?
Well naturally everything about the Sun. There would be no world without the sun after all and it is an honor that Falena was chosen to protect it. I never gave it much thought I suppose, it didn’t seem important.
43. What are your political views?
Ah, finally a question worth answering! It is the leader’s responsibility to ensure the beauty and peace of the everyone they rule over. War between countries should be avoided as it is far too costly and think of the damage done to our beautiful cities! However dissention within a country should be dealt with…though only a fool would disagree once they see how perfect everything is.
44. What are your views on sex?
…The questioner is quite the lewd sort I see. So many questions on sex and not one mention of love or marriage. The creator must have been born in a lower class.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I? You mean with my own hands? Oh my..but that would… Of course it must be done under certain circumstances, there are dangerous forces and truly contemptible people who should not be allowed to continue enjoying the pleasures of living! The act itself though should be given to those better suited to such barbarism.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Destroy beauty, either with a sword or harsh word. One must merely take a look at Stormfirst to see where such action will eventually lead.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
OF COURSE! The princess is always rescued by the hero and true love conquers in the end!
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Accomplishing your goals…I suppose that would make me most unsuccessful.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?
I am completely honest with them…or would be…if only they would make sense.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Of course not! Naturally, a highborn noble is free of anything of that sort by virtue of their blood.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Ally with any of the Godwin slime! No matter how terrible I have been I can take solace that I will never reach that base level!
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?.
Mother.
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I strive to always be perfectly polite and gentlemanly to everyone whom I converse! However there are some who are incapable of responding in kind and do not deserve such careful discourse. It matters not how long I have known someone, merely their own behavior that is the deciding factor in how they should be treated.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My…before coming to Budehuc my answer would have been without a shadow of a doubt Mother. With her absence here I suppose it turned to Luserina, and with her absence Lym the princess. Of course that was improper and I halted immediately…now I do not know. Hmm…
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
I am…unsure of this as well. It was also Dad before, but after having ruminated I don’t know how wise that is. So many of the terrible things I have done began with his prodding and ended in his praise. I don’t know who to model myself after now…I hadn’t realized…troubling.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I do have friends! I would describe them all both as best of course! Sir Sigurd and Miss Jewel come most readily to mind. I do not know what it was about the that period of time at the Island Nations but it produces quite wonderful people.
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?
No…not at this time. Af..After all! I have only recently ended a long entreaty to the dear princess…to be expected to have found another so soon would be an insult to her! I wouldn’t do that! Terrible idea…and terrible question.
58. Have you ever been in love?
Oh yes. The deep love for the princess…of course…I have chosen to stifle it. Quite noble really!
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Oh, but of course she must be fair and kind. Like the beautiful maiden in all of the stories! One ready to be rescued by her noble prince and be whisked off to a happily ever after!
60. How close are you to your family?
Not as close as I should have been. I wished of course to be more close to mother after she secluded herself and would rarely speak with us. But then, I have no excuse for having ignored Luserina for so long. Of course I tried to correct that here but…I seem to have failed that as well.
61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
Well naturally if I have no spouse I have not done this either! I would like to some day…though I doubt I would succeed at that either.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Sir Sigurd! He has come to my aid numerous times! Even if it has caused him pain before he continues to do so…numerous times…perhaps I should stop asking him…
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
Is this not the same question asked twice?
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
…..
I am certain any who would give it a second thought would be fine within a short time.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
The most horrid Alenia. Any violent Godwin supporter is of course worthy of nothing but scorn. In fact no..i change my answer. Though he is blessfully absent, the treacherous and evil Gizel shall always rank top in the most terrible persons to have ever breathed!
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
Oh I do so do like to avoid conflict, but it is so difficult with all about you strive so hard to bring conflict upon you.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
I do know I should, I have spent my entire life preparing for such. Oh, but such is one of my greatest failings in that I am still unable to do so successfully. But then I am able to do so little with success why should this be any different?
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Oh I very much do! Or rather I did. It was oh so much easier in Falena, I find it much more difficult here with no one knowing how to act. I do miss the large soirees of the past.
69. Do you care what others think of you?
Well naturally…I mean who would not? You spend a great deal of time to prepare for a proper social interaction, with appearance and manner, naturally one would hope others would look favorably upon such things. It is impossible to be social if you do not think at all of how others view you. It can be very important! …do you not agree?
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Oh I do so enjoy anything to do with art, both visual and in auditory. I may not be nearly as great as the tremendous talent at Haud but even an idle drawing or painting can bring such peace and beauty to a day. If it can be done while listening to music, oh an even better creative environment is achieved.
71. What is your most treasured possession?
…My most precious possessions are locked away in the past Rainwall. I do not know what has become of the princess’s portrait or Christopher and Sir Jack. I suppose my most treasured possession here would be the fine gifts I have received from those who chose by themselves to call me ‘friend’.
72. What is your favorite color?
Hmmm…this is a most difficult question. Why there are so many beautiful ones about the world to choose from. Truly to loose even the most dismal would be a blow from which life would never recover. I suppose if I must choose a single one for this question I would select red. It is so vibrant, no other color can truly compare.
73. What is your favorite food?
I am rather partial to fruits and sweets. The best of course is a combination of the two, some fruit dipped in chocolate, oh that sounds heavenly. Perhaps I shall be off to find some.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
I have never been so fond of reading. Perhaps it was the endless hours of dry studying I was forced to endure by my tutors.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
A fine concert enjoyed amongst a milieu of visual art to complete the experience of the senses. Or a fine play, a comedy is always best. I do wish Budehuc would have more of these high class activities.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
Of course not! I will enjoy a glass of wine on occasion, but once again the low class nature of these questions is shining through as it is obvious that is not what is meant by ‘drink’. Hmpf.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
…
78. What makes you laugh?
Something funny of course. A properly told joke, the fall of a rival that sort of thing.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
How truly scandalous and barbaric some of the people I now consort with can be! I thought myself to be a calm person but oh each day they show me there are only more things that are merely…not right!
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
If? This has happened many times in the past year. I have found it a good time to walk, even if only about the same route in a small room. It is also a good time to write and journal thoughts.
81. How do you deal with stress?
Quite reasonably. I will attempt to bring the upset up with the person who caused it…of course I have never had much luck with such an action and it only seems to increase the level of stress as they never understand what it is they have done wrong and I find myself continually the one at fault and more is added upon what began and I cannot bring it to the cause because that is what formed it in the first place!.... Did I answer this question? I’m not certain.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
A plan! My plans are ingenious. Of course I am able to come up with them so quickly to the untrained eye they may seem most spontaneous.
83. What are your pet peeves?.
People who just do not understand.
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.
I awaken and spend the necessary amount of time to properly groom. For the rest of the day before night fall I…find something to occupy my time with. It can be whatever I deem worthy that day. Though often it is art or meeting with select others. Upon thinking about it…I do have quite a bit of free time on my hands…
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
… I… um …
86. What is your greatest weakness?
… …The inability to do anything right.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would wish to be more as I know mother and Dad hoped I would. Better and more successful.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I do enjoy the public light…I suppose that means extroverted.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Organization is important, even if it is another area where I am less than proficient.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
… I have already answered these I’m sure…If you are not able to find them I do not see the reason for me to have to reiterate.
91. Do you like yourself?
… I …no.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer?
I am not one. Sleeping upon the ground…such physical exertion…no I do not believe I would like that a bit.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
… Now that I can no longer marry the princess…I..hmm…
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
…
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Well naturally I would not wish it. However if it were…I think I would like to do something heroic. Yes, like in the stories. Something so right that no one could argue it, and my name would be remembered for that deed and nothing else.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
…In..oh my…is…such a..a threatening sounding question…oh…but why I do not wish to think on it…Ugh! I cannot think under such stressful conditions!
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Something I most assuredly have not accomplished yet. It will be magnificent when it comes. Yes!...truly.
98. What three words best describe your personality?
…
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Dashing, charming, droll. …if those words exists in their vocabularies.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?
Stop taking everything so personally, it will be much easier to make friends which you sorely need.
