It is expensive. Kathea says we are doing a rather small wedding. It is running around $6000. I almost flipped when she told me that we were getting $500 worth of flowers. FLOWERS! I pictured a room filled from top to bottom with them. Then I found out what $500 in flowers looks like. 1 bride bouquet. 3 maid of honor bouquets. 8 boutonnieres 2 decorative flower arrangements.
Yes. Even with some of the stuff we can do to cut costs, it'll be pricey. I'm going to design and make my dress. I have yet to find fabric I like so I may have to special order it. Still cheaper than going to a store and buying a dress though. And this way I'll know it fits and is exactly what I like. I'm hoping to do it outdoors and have the reception at the same place as the ceremony. So that should save costs. Hopefully. Herbie's dad takes pictures, so I'm sure he'd take our wedding pictures. I'm not wanting to deal with a wedding party of bridesmaids and groomsmen. So I'll probably end up making something for Herbie to wear as well. Like I said, it'll save us money, but still be expensive. @_@ I'm trying to get my old debts paid off now and then start a savings account up so I buy can little bits of things here and there.
Getting married is like being stuck in that movie, The Money Pit. Every time you turn around, the stairs fall apart or something and you have to spend another couple hundred dollars.
