My friend Rowan from study aboard in Beijing is finally back from her year long tour of Asia. It just reminds me that it's almost a year ago that I embarked on my trip to China with so much uncertainty. what stereotypes did you break?

I totally didn't know you'd studied abroad. Shows how well I stay in touch. I'll probably lose touch with so many people soon.

Where did you work this semester? I know what you mean about being busy - I've worked 20-30 hours most weeks this year plus taken 15 hours (except one class was an ind study).

Well, that's another thing, not everybody goes back to school after college, which is understandable too since life usually gets in the way. As for stereotypes, they were the kind that get formed during the developmental years of middle school and high school about people and clicks. Mostly misconception due to lack of real world interactions and my not enjoying those years at all. To answer your other question, I babysat and worked as a classical Chinese researcher, which I have to admit were not the worst jobs that college student end up working when they're strapped for money. But just having the jobs and being a student taught me valuable lessons about the effects socio-economics and time management.
