He was transferred to our dorm as a temporary holding place before he moved to the other ones. Our dorm is for SEES members only; we never planned on keeping him for long. At least, not until now.

We encountered a Shadow that was much larger than the ones we normally see. Yet, it was nothing we couldn't handle.

I think the Shadows that you and my cousin faced are of a more primordial line, more closely tied to the sea of the human unconscious. Since they weren't born from a specific person, their consciousness is more indistinct and nebulous. It's just a theory, but...

He pointed out that Shadows were created from human subconscious, much like a Persona was.

He's right. A Shadow is suppressed power. A Persona is simply a Shadow that has been accepted by and tamed by the ego.

I heard from Minato-kun that when your powers awakened, you already had mastery over your Persona. But for some people, specifically those from Inaba, we first had to face and conquer our Shadows in order to gain the power of Persona. Perhaps there exists many ways for a person to gain this power.

This is something our research hasn't revealed yet. I remember when the community was overrun with Shadows, but I never had to face 'mine' in order for my Persona to awaken.
