Ohhh politics.

As nice as it was to see the headline CLINTON CRUSHES OBAMA this morning on CNN.com and in a few newspapers, the West Virginia outcome is very troubling to me. I think, at this point, Barack Obama has the nomination, when all is said and done (and counting every vote cast including Michigan and Florida) it appears Hillary will have the popular vote ( Read more... )

I completely disagree that Obama has no chance of winning in November unless he puts Hillary on the ticket. Obama winning most of the urban cores around the country is actually a GOOD thing if he gets the nomination. Reason being, in a general election of dem vs. repub, the repub is expected to win in the rural areas whereas the dem is expected to win in the urban areas. Look at any state-level general election map in recent history and you'll see that trend ( ... )

Yes, I totally agree with the baggage mention with Hillary. She has a lot of baggage and bad blood. She would have a hell of a time, if she was to get the nomination and not have someone bright and fresh such as Barack on the ticket with her. People are very quick to discount Hillary due to said baggage though. She has also proven, time and again, that she has a lot of strong supporters out there. As a friend of many Republicans, you forget that most are NOT at all thrilled with who their nominee is. Quite frankly, I think the running mate for the Republicans is going to make all the difference in this race because, right now, Dems will win big no matter who gets the nomination.

I just know from history that Dems need to take the urban as those typically hold the youth, liberals, etc that you spoke about before. It's definitely going to be a race of Independents come November!

McCain will definitely need a conservative on his ticket with him. He's a smart man, he will get one. I think if the democrats can get united and keep from disillusioning those deeply invested in each candidate, they will be able to pull out a victory in November.

There's a fine line though and I worry about how it might become tattered as the primary season comes to a close.

PS - Obama has the current lead in the popular vote, not Clinton. =)
